Hi everybody

We just discovered this forum (can't believe it took this long), and we're very excited. I'm authorized to speak for our group, so I use 'I' and 'we' interchangeably ;)

We're young, but we're not new to polyamory. We've had a good thing going for years (our bio is in our signature). But we're new to the polyamory community, and we've never met any poly people.
We're very curious about this site

We're very private people, and we like it that way. But we feel so alone and misunderstood sometimes, and we've had plenty of awkward (sometimes funny) situations with society.
We'd love to hear advice, ideas, stories, and issues from other people. We're all ears

I have a couple of newbie questions:

1) Can we use sexually explicit language when describing something?

2) Can we talk about social taboos like incest?

Thanks in advance, we really appreciate it :)

Hello and welcome to the forum!
1) Can we use sexually explicit language when describing something?

2) Can we talk about social taboos like incest?
I believe non of this is prohibited in the user guidelines, the forum is 18+ and sexual topics are discussed. Taboo topics can be hard to swallow, but please don't be discouraged by the occasional overreaction  and go ahead. The only thing to bear in mind is that whatever you write on this forum is basically publicly accessible forever, and the mods won't delete your posts easily; so it's very good to think about the impact (social or legal) that your writing could have on your real life if found and recognized by the wrong person.

Hi JackieJ - welcome to the Forum! I will echo Tinwen's good advice - do be careful about preserving your anonymity, especially if there are legal concerns. This is a generally blunt bunch on this forum - so it is not unusual at all to see sexually explicit language here, as well as strong opinions - but which are almost always meant well. Best of luck on your continuing poly journey. Al

Thank you for the heads up

No legal concerns, we're all adults now :)

Are you in the US? Most states still consider incest a criminal activity even if everyone is over 18. Especially parental figures (including step parents), but I'm assuming your sister is no longer married to your husband's father since you don't mention him in your posts.

Laws are a gray area regarding same sex relationships without a penis, but I would not count on being safe from prosecution unless you live in... New Jersey,I think? One state decriminalized incest between adults, but I can't remember for sure which one. Obviously, if you're not in the states this could vary as well.

Honestly, you won't find many people around here that will approve of your relationships. While I, in general, don't have an issue with incest, my gut reaction is to think it's gross. I couldn't imagine every wanting to have sex with any of my family members that I grew up knowing. If my partners wanted to be with my sister, fine. They can be with her, but I will 100% be done with them. It's just not my thing. Much like other kinks/fetishes. You want someone to cut you up? Cool. Go for it. I will not be seeing you naked with the wounds or scars. You want to be tied up? Ok. Not my need, but not a hard limit.

Luckily, most of us are capable of agreeing to disagree, so... live your life and be happy! Enjoy the support and ignore the hate.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful reply.

Big Sister's husband (current husband's father) is long deceased. Both our families imploded a long time ago, long before we were intimate, so all we have is each other.

But I had no idea that adult consensual lesbian incest was illegal.

Moreover, I'm somewhat surprised, and you're right that most people on this forum, of all places, seem to be disgusted by loving, playful consensual lesbian incest. I'm a little embarrassed, actually.

I'm not knocking anyone personally, I'm just venting a little.

I'm not promoting or encouraging this type of relationship. But many people on the Internet do seem to promote hardcore BDSM/orgies/gangbangs with random people that do not love or care about each other. And yet loving lesbian incest is frowned upon. Really? REALLY? Has no one EVER tried it and enjoyed it (secretly) in thousands of years of human history? It seems very tame and vanilla on the overall sexual spectrum.

Actually, my group doesn't really want me to continue on the forum. Maybe I will respect their wishes. I don't know what I want. I'm sorry I'm writing here, I don't want to start a new thread on the subject.

This place looks fine to me, people seem nice enough, but it's not what I expected. I don't know what I expected. It was an interesting experiment.

I'm confused, I don't know what to do yet.

Greetings JackieJ,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

I've read your other threads so far and enjoyed them, responded to a few. I hope you will stay with us, I know some people have a problem with the incest, but I don't have a problem with it. As long as it is consensual, and you are all happy together, that's all that matters to me.

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter"

Notes:

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Please read through the guidelines if you haven't already.

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!

Sorry about that  I can't really help my reaction either. Even more than about lesbian incest, I feel judgy about the fact that your sister is involved romantically with someone she was a step-parent to. Yet I also very much appreciate this opportunity to challenge my own ideas by hearing (reading) a real experience. I'm very glad all is well in your group!

I'm sure incest did and does happen in all forms throughout history and today.
I remember being turned on by my cousin in my early adolescence.
I also remember the time when hugging my father in the non-restraint way a child does became a little awkward.
We have a member here who hoped to get involved with her husband's brother. I think she gave up on the endeavour because she didn't want to even try challenge her husband's ideas on incest.

I think there must be a biological element to avoiding one's own siblings as sexual partners - otherwise romantic love would be bound to develop when people live so close to each other. But I get that some people will have a more pronounced avoidant reaction than others, and I'm cool with the fact that you don't have any.

There's probably no forum for polyamory with siblings  So you're welcome and if you want to stay (and challenge our openmindedness a bit) we'll do our best to be supportive.

I would not presume to judge the sexual/relationship status of any consenting adult, as long as it does not adversely effect me or those I love.

My issue is that you seem rather. . . aggressive in your choice of presenting hypothetical scenarios to the members of this group in an attempt to "stir the pot" (as you put it) and to sermonize about what "true" love really means.

It appears you take some pride in "ruffling feathers." You call it nurturing exciting discussion. It doesn't feel that way to me.

But I had no idea that adult consensual lesbian incest was illegal.

I think Ohio, Michigan, and Iowa are the only states that use such broad terms that they would include lesbian sex. The rest use sexual penetration, which they usually define as penis in vagina.

Not sure why you are saying most people. You've only heard from a couple. I would say "most people" don't care.

It would be impossible for me to try lesbian incest...lol

Not into orgies or gangbangs.

Into BDSM, but not with random strangers.

But just because I'm not into them doesn't mean I'm against people who are. You could say you are into German Shepards and it wouldn't shock me.
