I'm curious to hear experiences of people who believed they were monogamous but challenged themselves to try a polyamorous love approach in order to make themselves comfortable with a poly partner.

Good and bad, share them all. No I'm not talking about swinging or casual sex but forming a true relationship involving physical intimacy in order to understand the nature of the person they love. Did it add understanding; did it take away from the relationship you were trying to enhance?
