New Metamour, all the rules changed, hurt

You summarized it fairly well . Things are definitely transitioning, and I think I am struggling to be satisfied with how my relationship looks after . He and I have had a fairly solid relationship for 5+ years. The new girl is local to him and, unlike me they share a lot of hobbies. He has...

New Metamour, all the rules changed, hurt

Hi all. I haven't posted in a while . I am a married female with a long distance long term poly male partner. In the last year my partner broke up with his long term partner, started dating a new partner, and is now cohabitating with plans to get engaged soon . This has been an adjustment...

    Longevity of relationships

I have been in a poly v for 2 years that is still going very strong. While I obviously don't know what the future holds, we forsee being together for the foreseeable future, and talk about future plans involving all parties.

    Guys who argue against protection

I personally have never noticed a difference with or without condoms. I am not worried really about STI's, since both of my partners are rarely with others, but it is more about pregnancy prevention since I am not on birth control or using any method of contraception personally. With C we will...

    Condoms bc

This makes sense, but I also feel if it isn't high enough up won't it just start sliding down off the shaft during intercourse.

What if he doesn't really love his wife?

I don't have any advice to add but just wanted to say I feel that I am in a similar situation to the OP, and this thread is exactly what I needed to read. I definitely feel a stronger more powerful love with my partner, and my husband was my first love. I don't think my husband really realizes...

    Sex VS BDSM

I get this mentality and have had friends tell me "sex is just sex" which in theory I would like to agree with, but the only two people i have ever had intercourse with are my two partners, so for me sex has always been tied to people I love and care about. It is much easier for my husband to...

    Arguments against

Exactly, no two parents or family backgrounds are the same. We all have to make the choice that is best for us and our family. I am grateful for those that are able to be out, and able to raise awareness of poly.

    Arguments against

Actually, no, my parents have never visited me. They live over 500 miles away and my mom has had extensive health problems. That being said, even if I lived in the same town as them, they still would not know. My parents are conservative Christians that believe in traditional family values...

    Arguments against

Obviously people will always think you are cheating on one of your partners or that you are being unfaithful. I always make it clear that all involved are aware of what is going on and ok with it. I am sure if I ever told my parents (which I am never going to do), they would tell me I am sinning.

    Dealing with moving away

Why do you have to move just because your father-in-law is moving?

Help me think this through please!

If you have any hesitation or doubts about being intimate with someone, don't do it. You may feel more comfortable with the idea in the future, or it may be that it is best for her to remain only your husband's intimate partner

    Discrimination

What is your motivation for coming out? I would love to be more open, but I know my conservative, traditional family would disown me. I also work in a field that has a "morality clause" and while I would fight if there was ever issues, I would rather just not have work know. I do have friends...

    Discrimination

Many of my friends that are poly or involved in BDSM work for the federal government in some capacity. Many of them have had to do both polygraphs as well as background checks. if you are open and honest about multiple partners, BDSM, affairs, etc. the government does not care. If they find...
