The "How Are You Doing" Thread (redux)

Went on a date with wife, gf, and gf's fwb. Was awkward but had a good time! Other than that, swimming in NRE, scared and thrilled out of my mind!

What did you do today that made you smile?

^^^Dammit, I came here to say that... Okay, I teased the wife. That always makes me smile. :p

    Polyamory in television shows

Wife watches that show a lot. I saw that episode about a month ago and the whole time was thinking "please don't be the wives, please don't be the wives"... I did like the bickering and jealousy issues, as I would think that's a normal part of the life. From Booth's limited point of view...

    Polyamory and Christianity

LR- Whenever you (or anyone else, for that matter) find yourself in the Denver area. :D Fidelia, Now's as good as any! Personally, I'm finding it a complete yet exhaustive text. He really doesn't leave *any* examples from scripture out, so about halfway through most chapters I'm thinking...

    Polyamory and Christianity

In half seriousness, I don't think there can be peace in the middle-east until all parties (us too) can sit down to an old-fashioned southern BBQ.:) In full seriousness, MrFarFromRight - I would suggest that you read through Divine Sex. I'm on chapter 6 now, and by this point most of my...

What did you do today that made you smile?

Wrapped up a very big project at work. Like a huge load just fell off my shoulders... :)

    Polyamory and Christianity

 No kidding... ES takes a little bit to get going. I had your reaction after the first chapter, but it picked up. It's basically an exhaustive introduction to polyamory, full of practical advice and personal accounts. I found it very useful in some parts and not all that helpful in...

What are you listening to now?

My wife's laptop fan. It's so quiet.

    Polyamory and Christianity

Catbird, nice to meet you too! As Magdlyn pointed out, Paul essentially made the greatest of all foods accessible to Christians. He also tends to give me the greatest conflicts in reading the Bible. I usually try not to do ad hominem, seriously. I meant it from the "already questioning"...

We found that simply talking about it strengthened our relationship as well. Now we're just trying to get up the courage to take the next step. We're both excited and nervous at the same time!

Did your comfort with poly come gradually or in an epiphany?

Epiphany for me, gradual for my wife. To me it's as though all-of-a-sudden I knew I wasn't damaged or broken anymore. For her it seems like it was a door to a whole new world she walked by every day and only now opened.

    Polyamory and Christianity

Well, at risk of sounding blasphemous, Paul was a little crazy, with a religous fever not even Peter could match. I don't think he gets a pass just for being a church leader, but he was probably the world's first overzealous convert. Remember, most of the others converted with little guilt...

Well, its been about a month since we joined, so we've picked up quite a bit. I'm just about done with The Ethical Slut and find I agree more and more. So to me, its like a homecoming, whereas my wife is considering it all for the first time, but she is also enthusiastic. I really like that...

    Polyamory and Christianity

This theme is repeated multiple times throughout the Bible. I immediately thought of (horrible paraphrasing here) finding a speck in your brother's eye, when there is a log in your own. I think when Christians remember that it is about one's personal *individual* walk with Christ, you can...

    Biblical Christian Poly Living

Wow, did that come off as snarky?! I only really meant to bump the thread, say "Good on you" for having it, and add my 2 cents. Didn't mean to come off as cranky as it sounds in retrospect. I'm actually a pretty laid-back Christian.

    Biblical Christian Poly Living

This is a very needed thread Okay, so it's Sunday, so I guess I should finally get around to posting here! :p Periwinklesunset and I are Christian, and we are of the opinion that the most frustrating thing that keeps more people from finding Christ are Christians themselves! We've become a...

    Its been awhile

Welcome back! As we just joined last month, I had to go back and re-read your posts from the summer. I'm sorry for your breakup - long term relationships are never easy to get over. From what I gathered, it seemed like you discovered being poly in the middle of your relationship, and had to...

Need help explaining sex with one is not better than with the other

This is the very reason I am so thrilled and encouraging my wife to explore her affinity for women! Years ago, if she approached me about sharing intimacy with another woman (with or without me present) I would have thought "That's so hawt, chicks-on-chicks!!! WHOOOO!" Now that we've been...

    The Weather

Catfish- I think you're right about the weather. We're in Colorado, and even though it snowed *weeks* ago, its still hanging around, despite constant sunshine, (we're at 5500+ so it takes *forever* for snow to melt). Now don't get me wrong - its pretty and I love my new home, but for a while...
