Yesterday at Comic-Con, I was volunteering and ended up spending most of the day with this girl I’d just met. While we were talking, she told me that she and her boyfriend had tried opening their relationship in the past, but it didn’t go well. She said most of the guys she met were needy, pushy, or tried to separate her from her partner, so she eventually stepped away from the whole idea of polyamory.
Throughout the day she stuck around me a lo, we were joking, laughing, talking about everything. She seemed really comfortable, and honestly, I enjoyed her company more than I expected. She kept looking for me, asking where I’d gone, and we ended up spending almost the whole day together.
At the end of the event, completely unexpectedly, she gave me her number.
Today I sent her a message thanking her for the great day and asking how she was doing. She replied saying she had actually expected me to kiss her at the end because she felt such a strong connection.
I was a bit surprised and asked her about what she said yesterda, how she didn’t want to try polyamory again because past experiences had been disappointing. And then she sent me this really sweet message saying that meeting me changed her mind: that I was kind, patient, genuinely interested in talking with her, and nothing like the guys she’d met before.
Just wanted to share because the whole experience caught me off guard in a really nice way. Not sure where it will go, but it was definitely one of those unexpected moments that makes you think
