    Book: Sex at Dawn

Nice quote, River. I need to become more silent, which means I should practice being quiet.

    Book: Sex at Dawn

 Well, it was on my table for a few days. Does that count? I can't read it, Cindie. I know I would do so with the intent to support my belief that early human sexual behaviour has no application in a modern world. I think the article I posted sums up my uninformed thoughts with an...

    Desperate at Dawn

You're probably right River. We humans live far longer than nature apparently designed us to according to the scientific research...maybe that ties into it?

    Desperate at Dawn

Hi and welcome to the forum :) You are having what is called New Relationship Energy with a book that does not apply or apeal to everyone....I know it's hard to believe LOL! Remember, this is a pop culture book and was never submitted to any scientific journal for peer review (kind of like a...

    Maybe I am being selfish!

Hi and welcome :) What is your hubby's background around you being with other men? Have you guys swung before? My main concern is that he is seeing this on a very surfcae level and caught up in the idea of getting to have sex with another woman. I did this one time years ago...got caught up in...

managing emotions so you don't lose your mind and do/say things you regret later

Instead of managing some of my more intense emotions I've communicated what changes this brings about in me to my partner. There are times where I have to vent so I give fair warning that what I am about to do is "venting" and then I can think about it rationally. I spout off a bunch of mostly...

Do you like knowing what your partner likes about their other partner?

Thanks, but you really need to look at RP's blog in Life Stories. She's currently out with her non-sexual boyfriend that she's dying to make less non-sexual, courtesy of my own boundaries. I'm far from a poster boy... except for guys with bike fetishes. :)

    life long commitment

Not to nit pick but... http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=15829757399&topic=17224 In Dec 2010, Alan, who runs the website Polyamory in the Media, did something very interesting. (Incidently, his website is about how p. Check it utolyamory is being covered in the media, and is very cool...

Do you like knowing what your partner likes about their other partner?

I like knowing what RP sees in people, for sure. Generally, I can see it for myself, though. She picks great people to be around and invite into her life.

    Poly on purpose

There is sadness and happiness to be found in this post. Talk to me any time you want to, my friend. Hope you are okay. :(

    lifestyle vs. identity in polyamory

My own lawyer has requested that I state "When I speak of love on this board it is the kind that includes, and is limited to, the kind that makes me want to express it sexually. That is a very different kind of feeling than the one I have for friends, children and metamours. I recognize that...

    lifestyle vs. identity in polyamory

There's where we differ internally. I love only one but could choose to have multiple relationships. I am a certain way but could choose to live in many ways. Very cool!...of course it would be an act on my part because I'm not poly

New to Polyamory and recently hit a huge stumbling block

I've experienced this sort of thing when RP had Leo over to her room...which is i the middle of my suite LOL. It was a lingering energy that made me want distance from her. Hmmmm interesting.

    Redpepper's journey

It's actually on my dining room table. I feel like a priest walking around Satan's bible, scratching his chin and thinking "Do I look, or don't I?" Honestly, there is only one reason reason I would read this book and it is not for the sake of possibly expanding my mind. Therefore, it's better I...

New to Polyamory and recently hit a huge stumbling block

Why don't you just stop having her boyfriend spend the night??? It sounds as though she is having a hard time transitioning from being intimate with him to being intimate with you after each night. It's your house too...no more overnight visits. You pushed that rule (which is great and shows...

    13 seconds.....KIDDING!!!...I'll stop now...I swear :o

    lifestyle vs. identity in polyamory

I'm hard wired mono and know people who just live monogamously because they don't know anything else.......so I would imagine you could be naturally poly and/or choose to be poly as well. But this topic is not for me...if only I could choose to be poly :p

TAADAAA!! There's your main answer :) I felt like a third whell for quite a while when it came to PN and RP. Now I don't. I think it took me a year and a half to get over that though..I move slowly :o
