New guy from Vancouver Island! I'm married, my wife and I just opened our relationship with talks of polyamory, It's all new to me so here for advice and to make new friends hopefully. I believe love and sex is something to draw people closer, I know my wife is the person I'm happily growing old with but looking forward to meeting and getting close with new people as well now that its an option. Thanks!

Hi. Your intro is just fine here as it is. Welcome to polyamory. Haveeither you or your wife previously had an open relationship? If not, I would suggest going slowly. Also, you may want to consider other forms of non monogamy (just so you can see what the other options are like). The book "opening up" by Tristan taormino is said to be useful. Thanks Shaya! Very interesting article on non monogamy, much appreciated! We plan on taking it slowly, we tried previously and she had a few experiences but I didn't and it made her feel a bit awkward I think so we stopped. We will play it by ear and use caution, it's hard breaking societal norms

Often in poly/open relationships the wife will more easily find people to date, while the husband may not find any or not for quite awhile. Not sure why, but it happens, consider it the nature of the beast. Meanwhile you can turn to Polyamory.com for help and advice. Glad you could join us!
