Hello!

I have been an infrequent browser here fo a couple of years, but have never made any posts.

I am female, bi with predominantly straight tendencies, just turned 44 last week and 100% heart and body wired for poly for as far back as I can remember. I can recall having poly thoughts in my heart as an eight year old, and just not knowing there was a word for it and a community of others who feel the same way. (I suppose back then, their actually was not the word "polyamory")

I am in the 14th year of a poly living together relationship with the man who is my best friend and father of my two youngest boys. We continue to be head over heals in love with and head spinning attracted to each other. But there always has been a discrepancy in the level of openness we are comfortable with in our relationship. I am more comfortable with the openness than him and he also prefers a slower pace with things than I do.

The two of us have been having some pretty heavy conversations lately. It feels like a good time to make an introduction for me because I appreciate that you are all here as a resource to reach out to. I have many amazing and open minded friends and family in my offline life that I can truly talk to about anything, but most of them do not have the element of polyamory in their lives.

Thanks polyamory.com for being here ⭐⭐⭐

Greetings haitrieutwo,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

Sounds like you may have become aware of some differences in how you and your man view and prefer things. We are certainly glad to help you with that in any way we can, and you do have the advantage of poly experience here.

Just let us know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)
