I guess I kind of skipped the introduction and jumped right into a conversation. It was so great to find this site. I have really enjoyed reading and learning more about polyamory. It isn't new to me, but I am really unfamiliar with the day to day dynamics of it.

About me... I have been happily married for almost 13 years. We describe our marriage as open because it seems to be the most general label we can find. It feels important sometimes to define our relationship more specifically, but then it always brings up some issues, so we just back away from that. I guess that is why I went looking for information (and found this site.) I really want to understand this lifestyle and be able to determine if this is really a path I want to go down and how to deal with the issues that come up along the way.

Greetings pacificfords,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

I've been following your Feeling Confused thread and sympathize with your position there. Hopefully ongoing feedback (with folks such as GalaGirl) will help you figure things out.

There's a couple of books you might want to read:

  • "More than Two: a practical guide to ethical polyamory," by Franklin Veaux and Eve Rickert.
  • "Opening Up: a guide to creating and sustaining open relationships," by Tristan Taormino.
In addition we can answer any questions you have, which will help you understand what poly is and how it works.

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

Notes:

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!
