is it wrong to look at others while with one?

There are so many things that a "typical relationship" tries to use social norms for, and it usually ends up causing problems when there are very different social norms between the partners - people go to external places to look for validation of their viewpoint, to try to "prove" that society backs them up.

In a healthier world, we don't make those assumptions, and we work out the "rules" of the relationship ourselves with our partners, and then live by those as one of the things you do when you respect a relationship.

This is a classic example of that.

just trying to see something from other's points of view, that's all. Posting here on this forum helps me understand my feelings, as well as other's.
