Hi maybe someone on here can help me. I'm looking for way of meeting more polyamory people in my area or the surrounding area. I have dated one couple in my area before and one a hour away. I don't know if any others as this is not big city. I have tried online dating sites because I'm looking for man, women, or couple. I have tried OkCupid, pof, DateHookup, tinder, meetup, and few others that are free. I just want don't know we're to loook for polyamory people. I know they are out there in my area but how do I meet others?

Online dating is vast and varied. When you say that you tried OKCupid, what did you do? What did you write in your profile and what kind of photos did you put up? The overall vibe that you put out and how you communicate on OKCupid makes all the difference, unlike an app like Tinder, which is heavily hook-up, one photo, snap judgement based. In my experience, OKCupid is by far the most efficient and most fun way to meet others who are "regular people" who happen to be open to poly. You'd never even know about them otherwise. Most poly people that I know do not join poly clubs or consider themselves part of a "lifestyle" group, they just live and love quietly and most have active OKCupid profiles.

This might sound odd, but I've found that FetLife is a pretty good resource for finding poly people. Like if you write "polyamory" and the name of your city in the search window, you may find someone.

There's also the idea of attending "fringe activities" like Ren fairs, goth events, sci-fi cons, indie music or what have you. People there are more likely to have an open mind and be poly-friendly.

You can also google "polyamory" with the name of your state or nearest major city. This may yield the name of one or more local poly groups, you can see if they're too far away from you.

Anyway there's a few ideas.
