New to poly and looking to learn ^^

Hey!

I've been pondering for a while about the ethics of monogamy and found that polyamory aligns much more closely with my values so I did as I usually do and started researching a bunch. Honestly, the more I read and learn, the more I'm interested in the lifestyle and the more frightening the first few steps become. I'm quickly starting to think that my ethics and my emotions need time to adjust to one another, so I started looking for poly meetups and/or support groups in my area but couldn't find any within the next month; hence, here I am!

Delving in to the research has been on the back burner for a while now, but a week or two ago I decided to finally get in to it after finishing my go-to book back then (Sapien, 9/10 would recommend) and started reading more than two. Currently in chapter 10, I'm loving it. The effects of that book are already being felt in major ways in my current relationship of 4 years.

I've come here to lurk around a bit and see if I can get some words from actual poly people who've been "on the scene" for a while now. I'm especially curious to how people got started and dealt with getting the first bit of momentum going.

Anyway, that's me and what I'm doing here. Looking forward to talking to you all :)

Greetings Muizz,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

You might find our Why and how did you get into poly? thread to be useful. Also the Life stories and blogs board might be worth looking into, for example my blog is in there. And you can post any questions you might have; we'll try to answer.

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Please read through the guidelines if you haven't already.

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome!

I LOVE "more than two!" I'm reading it as well with my triad and we're around chapter 12 or so.

Look around as lots of people have posted stories and questions and discussions :)
