Newly polyamorous (again), looking for discussion (and Charleston SC group)

Hi all.

I've been looking for poly groups in Charleston, SC, and my web searches led me here. I'd like some people to talk to about this lovestyle and share experiences, and this looks like a good group of people so far. So here goes.

I've been married for a year and a half. I've had some limited (not great) poly experiences many years ago, and after talking about it with my wife once in a long while, we just decided to go poly two weeks ago. (It helped that she met an incredible guy two weeks ago; that sparked the conversation to move from the theoretical into the here and now!)

I'm happy for her, and glad to be able to be poly now that I'm older and (hopefully) wiser and communicate much better. I haven't been the jealous type all my life. When I was in monogamous relationships, I didn't get jealous when my partner spoke to or hung out with others. But now that this is happening, I'm having all kinds of feelings of jealousy and insecurity.

Our marriage is solid, we do pretty well at communication, she's very respectful of me, and so is her new partner. So what is my problem?!? My brain knows that I shouldn't be threatened, but my emotions have a mind of their own.

Anyway, I've read a few posts here, and y'all seem like a very social and respectful group of people with lots of shared experience. I'm glad to be here. I hope I can find some folks to talk to and, hopefully, contribute as well.

Greetings hippieatheart,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

I have some links I often recommend for folks struggling with jealousy:

Don't know if that helps but thought I'd share.
