Opening my marriage to poly relationships

My husband and I have been discussing exploring polyamorous relationships for YEARS. It was initially my idea (prior to him monogamy hadn't been a focus or interest for me) and at first he was hesitant but we are now both sure that it would work for us. Our main hesitation now is the logistics, I.e. juggling our relationship, work, home, and our young child. Additionally, as we no longer frequent the places we would normally meet people (bars and parties, mostly), we don't even know how or where to start. Has anyone else dealt with similar considerations, and have any ideas?

I suggest online dating sites like OKCupid, but honestly, I met my 2nd husband in person, at a gaming store, hanging out and having fun with my friends. I suggest you widen your social circle, start some new activities separately, and see who comes your way.

Hi Superfly,

Besides OKC there's a few other dating sites to try:

And you can look for local poly groups in your area:

As for all the things you have to juggle in life, that's just something I think you do as you go along, a little at a time. Your child of course must always be your primary concern.

I hope that helps.
Sincerely,
Kevin T.

I agree with Bluebird. I met my husband Murf in person out in the real world socializing without my husband Butch. I have met all my previous partners that way. On line dating was full of creeps when I tried it years ago.

According to my single friends and poly friends I know who are trying it not much has changed.

Re: poly relationship

My wife met her boyfriend at a meditation retreat. We are married 13 years and I supported my wife in her poly lifestyle.

We were lucky to find in the boyfriend a mature, polite, well educated gentlemen who not only respects my wife but is respectful to me as well. He is mono.

It has been only a few months now that my wife is dating him and we are gradually adjusting to the logistics

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, there are some excellent ideas to try. While we are excited to see where this journey takes us, actually getting out there is seeming very intimidating.

I was totally planning to meet someone poly, possably online, then two years ago I met my mono boyfriend on holiday. Life is what happens when you make other plans...
