Poly, married and Black (British)

Hi all,

I'm Mr. Babe (Babe's husband). We are both poly. She has a partner outside our marriage, which I totally support and endorse.

While I have been polyamorous for years (even before I knew there was a name for it), it's been a struggle to make this theoretical poly of mine practical, meaning that I have found the two (?) poly-friendly dating sites, OKC and POF, to be a bit of a waste of time (for me).

Could the problem possibly be that I have generally dated outside my own ethnic group, both here in the US and formerly in the UK? I get a sense that many want to stick to their own here. I live in NYC.

Any suggestions and comments would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

In some parts of America, that would certainly be true (like here in the Bible Belt where I find myself at the moment). However, last time I was in Monterrey, California, just south of San Francisco, mixed ethnicity couples (of all kinds) were about as common as same ethnicity couples. As for NYC, I'm sorry, I've never been there so don't have a clue. Hopefully, someone else will be able to answer the question for your part of the country.
