Warm hello

Hi! I'm Meli. I am new to poly (in conscious defined terms because I've had my share of close friendships and roommates that would have been more if allowed) and currently have one partner who identifies as solo. I'm a single/divorced mom of two littles. I'm really grateful to be shedding the limiting beliefs of monogamy (which originally had more to do with property ownership than relationship) and to participate in free-of-fear authenticity instead (re-villaging). Also, I'm speaking with my best self right now. Two days ago I was a mess and I might be again in two more days, because this is all new. But even as I work out my kinks (not that kind, I'm keeping those!) I can see the growth, beauty, and freedom available in this path.

Welcome! I saw your original post though I haven't had time to reply yet; I'm glad the board is a helpful space for you so far. Since I'm writing here anyway, I will say that you might get a LOT of good out of reading the book PolySecure by Jessica Fern; I may sound like a broken record in recommending it but I literally have reread it twice since it came out last year because it's just that good for getting my thoughts straight.

Greetings Meli,
Welcome to our forum. Now it's official!

You have had quite a journey, to get to where you are now, and you will have many exciting adventures ahead! Monogamy per se is okay, but in this world it usually comes with a lot of conditioning, and that is a bad thing. I think maybe you are having an awakening to something that has been buried deep in your subconscious for many years. Kudos for opening yourself up to the poly possibilities! I hope to continue to interact with you in the future.

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Yeah Kevin, it definitely feels like moving past the "you don't love me" feeling was about prior conditioning. It feels like this is more authentic to me and a remembering more than a learning. Having to predetermine what any connection will be or opting out of enriching experiences for the sake of existing labels doesn't make sense.
