Hi, my wife and I left Seattle after 18 years, to start a new adventure in N. Idaho. She was a lawyer, and I'm a programmer, so we decided to try working with our hands for a while, and learn new skills.
So, after a long hunt for good raw land, we ended up on 10 acres, where we then learned how to build our own home. Electrical, plumbing, construction, water, you name it. Except drywall, because drywall sucks.
We're on grid, since we have two young kids, but otherwise, things are pretty homesteady. Fruit trees, chickens, two dogs, and ample deer, turkeys and coyotes around. With Starlink internet, I can still work remotely doing coding for a Seattle company.
Looking forward to meeting new friends!
