"polyamorous people have no standards" myth

A myth about polyamorous people is we have no standards. Though I want more than one woman, there's some women I won't get in a relationship with. I liked this female teacher years ago until she threatened a teen. She said "how about I bash your skull against the wall!" While he taunted me, I thought he didn't deserve that. The fact an adult treated a teen student like that made me lose attraction for her.

You certainly do have high standards.

Hi Isaiah,

That teacher was definitely not behaving in an attractive way. Your reaction was appropriate. Polyamorous people definitely have standards.

She should've been fired for that. What are your standards for a partner? Why do you think monogamous people think polyamorous people are promiscuous?

People just aren't ready to hear about polyamory. They automatically think the worst thing about it.

Some "polyamorous" women reported me to my girlfriend, trying to make me look like a cheater as if all polyamorous people are cheaters 😂 one said "your man is chatting up other girls here. I'm sorry you are going through this.." 😂

The kind of interaction you are describing sounds like junior high school kids. Is this sort of "communication" common among the people you know? You are using laughing icons like you think this is normal and entertaining.

I've known other people this has happened to. Actually recently. I don't know if its a pandemic thing. Both men. One on a dating site; a woman decided to find out who their partner was through social media and contacted her. Put together his name and location, found him on Facebook, found her and messaged.

Another a female colleague called his wife to say she overheard him say he was in an "open marriage" and as she had been cheated on, thought she should know. This turned into a HR incident.

These weren't people close to the men. Okay the first one was speaking to her on a dating site but he had no idea of her level of crazy at that point.

I think if you don't laugh about these people, you'll cry.
