Challenge: create a greeting card for a new polyamorous relationship!

So B came out about us to her sister. Her sister was happy but mused "I suppose there isn't a Hallmark card for that, is there?"

Well that got me thinking...what would a greeting card for a new poly relationship look like? I'd love to put one together and give it to B, because that's the kind of thing we do. And I am a total sap...so I can do sappy and serious...but I'm looking for slightly silly too which I'm not as good as. I'll share what o eventually come up with. Any ideas? :D

I can think of cards announcing that you are poly... But a "congratulations on being poly!" card? I'm not sure how to go about that.

Mmh, maybe something about "Making one relationship work is hard enough..." then you turn the page and it says "...I don't know how you do it!" and there is a graph of an intimate network of some sort?

EDIT: if we're creating cards, we should create a whole line :p
Cards for Valentine's day, both cards intended to more than one person and cards intended to your metamour, or cards meant to be given to someone by more than one person at a time...
Then congratulation cards for plural weddings, announcement cards "our family's getting bigger!" announcing a new partner rather than a kid, and so on.

Looks like a lot of potential, even if they probably wouldn't get much use :p

"Every relationship fails ... until a few don't!"

"Happy birthday to my husband's girlfriend's wife!"

"To my girlfriend and her husband on their special day ..."

"Roses are red, violets are blue, I love him, and so do you!"

:D

Those are awesome TP! I like the last one the best I think :D

I agree about the last one, mainly because that's one I'd use. :D

What sort of art/photos would be on the cards? Just groups of people?

People holding hands (and feet where ness), in a cross-circle way that represents all the relationships that are going on. It should end up looking like a weird connected twister.

Songs that could be added to Polycards:

"I wanna hold your hand...hand...hand...hand...hand......."

Or

"I wanna hold your hands........" (The Beatles. polyfied!!)

I was browsing and found this thread.

I was recently feeling like my girlfriend's husband was so generous.

So, I said, I feel like I want to buy him a card that says,

"Thanks for sharing your wife!"

A "Thank You" card for being told by someone:
Thank you for trusting me with news about your life choices!
(that also would work well with gay/lesbian/bi "coming out" news)

A condolences card for the loss of a loved one:
My condolences to you and your spouses on the loss of your other spouse.
My condolences to you and your husband on the loss of your girlfriend
My condolences to you and your wife on the loss of your girlfriend
My condolences to you and your husband on the loss of your boyfriend
My condolences to you and your wife on the loss of your boyfriend

A "Congratulations on the new lover" one:
Congratulations to you and your wife on the new girlfriend!
Congratulations to you and your husband on the new girlfriend!
Congratulations to you and your wife on the new boyfriend!
Congratulations to you and your husband on the new boyfriend!

A "Congratulations on the new lover" one:

Is this a thing? Like, do people actually send cards to people to congratulate them for finding a new partner? That sounds so incredibly patronising to me.

I don't know that it is or isn't. The "challenge", as posed by the thread title and the OP, was to create a greeting card for a new polyamorous relationship. I was rising to the challenge.

I hadn't considered an "announcement from the poly-family" card... so here's one for that:
Front cover:
Meet our new family!
(open card, there's a place on the inside front for a picture of everyone)
Inside, back:
We all say "Hi!"

Love,
