Double dumped

Hi everyone - first time posting but I'm not that new to polyamory.

I just got dumped by two people in the same evening. Ugh!

The two people weren't a couple, and they didn't even have related reasons - it was just coincidence. One of them was a relatively new partner of about 3 months, and the other was my primary of three+ years.

I was wondering if anyone has any commiseration / stories about similar polyamorous misadventures.

Oh, that's awful! (Virtual hug) Hope you're doing alright, and welcome to the forum

About two years ago, I ended my relationship with my local boyfriend because local boyfriend had been an insensitive ass to me and because his wife was being a major toxic bitch to both me and my husband (we had been a quad). I told long-distance boyfriend about what had happened. Long-distance boyfriend seemed somehow offended that I had any issues with these people whatsoever, and five days later he called me up (during a romantic weekend with my husband, which he was well aware of) and told me that his feelings for me had changed. I could never get much of an explanation out of long-distance boyfriend as to why he was ending our almost two-year relationship, but it's clear to me now that he somehow sided with local boyfriend and his wife, whom he had met socially twice before this happened. I still don't understand why he was willing to jettison a loving long-term relationship in order to show solidarity/loyalty to people whom he barely knew, but there are a lot of things I don't understand about that ex, and I eventually, after a whole lot of pain, gave up trying to be his friend or stay in touch with him.

I have better, saner people in my life now, and I wish you luck in finding that too.
