Fun and Frolic With Long-Term Love

On Saturday MisterMoonbeam & I went to lunch at Mission BBQ, and then spent time at the Walters Art Museum together in Baltimore. He paid for parking right next to the place, so that was nice! He picked this particular museum because they currently have a medieval cats exhibit! This includes the oldest manuscript that has paw prints on it - a cat walked through the wet ink on more than one occasion!

My favorite painting:

I had been to this museum with PunkRock in the past, but it was like, a decade ago maybe? IDK but it was a while. I enjoyed the experience a lot this time, for sure and will go again! He bought me a cool pair of earrings, and we then went to dinner at a restaurant nearby - it was called TheGrill, and we both agreed it was worth another visit in the future!

MisterMoonbeam got us a hotel room overnight, because that evening we got dressed up and attended a medieval event at the Baltimore Playhouse. I went for more of a village wench vibe.

IMG_4335.jpeg

It was the busiest event I had ever attended there - we had to walk down from the upper parking lot and wait in a long line. Upon entering, YoungNorse yelled my name and came up to say hi. I hadn’t expected to see him! He said he was there with his wife and two other connections, and had scenes planned, but if I had time, he would love to do one with me.

Honestly, this made me feel very uncomfortable. We had one date over a year ago - December 2023 - but we’ve seen each other sporadically at vending events, and he is connected to me through my metamour’s extended polycule. (TheEngineer’s wife dates a female partner of his. I’m not sure if this shared partner was one of the people there. I don’t think so but I could be wrong.)

Anyway, I’m much less attracted to him than I was a couple of years ago! It’s nothing he’s done - I have just moved on with my feelings. He’s a nice young guy but I have no energy for more right now. And a DOM-y sort of dude who wants to get with me most definitely needs to have some back and forth with me about boundaries and such before hooking up at an event. So him jumping to in the initial conversation made me less enamored.

I did end up having some fun times with MisterMoonbeam, but the highlight was watching some “barbarian” wrestling matches. I am very interested in doing this myself in the future - strangers were paired up and wrestled nude or close to nude! After seeing it, I think I will try it next time.

On my actual birthday, TheEngineer picked me up and we went to Frostburg to do a 10-mile pedal car ride through Tracks & Yaks.

IMG_4427.jpeg

We stopped for brunch at a small coffee shop that we both ended up loving - the vibe was awesome - before starting the adventure.

IMG_4474.jpeg
Initially we were both thinking that 10-miles was a bit much, but the distance wasn’t an issue and we both wanna do one much longer in the future.

The tracks went from Frostburg to Mount Savage. I really, really loved it. The weather was absolutely perfect. Leading up to the time, thunderstorms were forecast but there ended up being zero rain for the two hours we were there. Whew!

Here I am in my picture of the day. I was dressed for the activity:

Oh, and he gifted me a croquet set! I’ve wanted one for like ever!

On Monday evening, DarkKnight & MisterMoonbeam and my three kiddos (plus LittleMichigan’s partner) went to dinner at Mission BBQ, and then came back to the house for DarkKnight’s homemade carrot cake cupcakes.

I was spoiled rotten.

It was really great to see all of my kids together. It makes me really happy and gives me all the good feels. 🥰

That’s all of my birthday celebrations! My mom messaged me but did not call. I messaged back and told her I didn’t have her phone number, but that was the end of that. My nephew called me and we talked about the fact that his mom and his siblings might be moving down here. I told him I wanted him & his husband to move down here! 😆 We will see if any of that happens.

Overall it was an amazing birthday. 48 was pretty great!

Usually on Tuesdays, TheEngineer comes to visit me. Yesterday, instead, MisterMoonbeam dropped me at a Starbucks in Frederick on his way to work. I was there for a couple of hours, working on acorn necklaces and hair clips/pins. Three ladies stopped to tell me they loved my art! I didn’t want to get thrown out for soliciting, so I thanked them. In retrospect I should have given them a business card but I was not prepared.

I was able to do some math and figure out that I needed to order some more of the rainbow acorn lockets, so I did that. I am going to continue to work on both of these items throughout Sept-October during my in-between times, when I have some spare moments. I really love how the mushrooms turned out!

Anyway, after a bit, TheEngineer picked me up and I did some shopping at Michael’s while he had Zoom therapy from his truck. Afterward, we went to Panera and then to the grocery store. Oh, how do I explain this…

On Monday evening I got a call from the local surgical center. I had forgotten - so I am glad they reached out - that I had a colonoscopy scheduled for Wednesday! So Tuesday, I was on a liquid diet with a lot of restrictions. So at Panera for lunch I had chicken noodle soup, but just drank the broth. Then I bought more broth at the store, along with Mango Italian ice and some apple juice.

None of this stuff is diabetes friendly, really, other than the broth. My main concern though was my calorie count! I ended up having my blood sugar yo-yo all day, and I was dizzy because of my lack of energy. Ugh it was a mess! It was worse because the reason I was actually there was so TheEngineer and I could make cement weights for our vending booths together! The bags are 80 lbs, and it was not a super easy task. I mean, the parts of it weren’t difficult, but things were hard because my sugar was spiking and tanking all day long. It worked out though, and I now have 10 weights firming up at his house. I plan to pick them up on Thursday - we have another day planned to work on building me two new Bean displays.

IMG_4557.jpeg

These weights though, once I get them, I need to spray paint them. I’m going to do that on Friday or Saturday, depending on the weather.

The rest of last night was fucking terrible. I had to drink a Prep for the colonoscopy, and it was the worst tasting thing I have ever had to drink, no contest. I cried and dry-heaved. Then I had to drink two full bottles of water within the hour and that part was easier. However, it was supposed to clean me out - and it didn’t.

The internet said wait two hours. It also said for some people it takes 4-5 hours. I drank the Prep at 6 pm, but didn’t start pooping until 2 am! I was up for almost half the night, waiting anxiously. And then when it did start, it wasn’t too horrible - a few nuggets and then some water butt sprays. (TMI but whatever)

Well, at 2:30 am I had to take the second dose of Prep and 2 more bottles of water. I did all that and then had to get up several times for poops - all just the liquid leaving. I guess I am pretty regular because there wasn’t much solid to begin with. Yay?

I had to be at the surgical center for the procedure at 7:30 am, and MisterMoonbeam took the morning off of work to be with me. Here’s what I wore. At the center I had to put on a gown and since then I’ve been in pajamas, so I wore this for like 30 minutes. Lol

IMG_4555.jpeg

I wasn’t too worried about everything - there’s no history of colon cancer in my family (honestly no cancers at all, anywhere!) but I was mildly anxious about being being knocked out. I figured things had gone smoothly with the anesthesia twice last year, so there was no reason to worry about this procedure now, really.

And I was right - the IV went in smoothly and I had no complications. I actually woke up instantly while still in the operating room (I wasn’t having an operation - just a camera in my bum) and the anesthesiologist was like, hey! you’re scheduled to be awake a bit later!! But the procedure was done then and they were getting ready to wheel me into recovery. So I was out of the place and on the way home by 9:30 am!

The scary thing is that they found 3 large polyps that the doctor described as “concerning” and the biggest is over 1 cm in size. She cut them out completely - they were higher up in my colon. I should hear about them within a week as they were all sent out for a biopsy. She did explain that these were in no way associated with the nodules in my thyroid, or my cysts and fibroids that were removed from my abdominal cavity last year. She said she didn’t see any signs of intrusion from the adhesions on the outside of my colon - where my organs/fibroids were stuck to it in one section. She said she didn’t expect to, and didn’t, but she understood that all of that going on made sense why the gyno wanted to schedule me for an actual looky-loo rather than just the mail-in Colo-guard or whatever that’s called. She said they weren’t associated, but I did seem to have a lot happening.

And it’s a good thing. She said for 48, she was very surprised to see these things hanging out. Regardless of the biopsy outcome, she’s putting me down for another colonoscopy in 3 years instead of 5. Obviously if they aren’t benign we will have further issues to discuss, but for now I will be waiting for news from the online charting app. I will probably see the results before she does, but she will call me.

No biopsy results yet, but photos of my polyps posted and I had a meltdown. Idk - there’s a huge difference from a doctor telling you results were concerning, and then actually SEEING the issue.

These definitely are concerning, holy shit. 😭 I was fine, but seeing these was a shock. Up to this point though, I have an excellent track record for growing random things that aren’t actually cancer, so I’m holding it together. I’m actually upset because this kind of fucking nonsense was supposed to be OVER with. 2024 was my year of rest. 2025 is for FOCUS. Ugh. Hopefully I get biopsy results soon.

Yesterday I decided to work in the 10x10’ courtyard I’m creating as part of my booth space for my next show. Check it:

IMG_4666.jpeg

My historical canopy will be shipped to me on Tuesday, and the tent poles will be covered with sage green curtains and flower garlands. I need to make a laminated sign to hang on the bench - I want people to take a pic while wearing one of my flower crowns and then tag me on social media. I will choose a winner and they’ll score a free headpiece. I wanna use this promotion to gain more followers.

Overall though I am happy with how this looks right now!

Oh - I was selected for a show in November I REALLY wanted to get into, so I am excited!

Here’s my photo of the day for Saturday - I went to Frederick Pagan Pride with MisterMoonbeam. NGL I felt pretty good because at LEAST a dozen people told me they looked my look!

IMG_4695.jpeg

Today I’m wearing my new kaiju monster dress!

IMG_4736.jpeg
IMG_4781.jpeg

I ordered this dress 4 months ago and it was back ordered. So now that it is here, I’m not a 12/14 anymore - I’m a size 10. I can’t return it, as the dress is again on back order until December. 🙃 Until I can get it altered, I decided to pop on a corset.

I have to take MisterMoonbeam to the airport today and I am missing him already! He’s going to be in Arizona again for the week.

I received my written biopsy results - 2 polyps were not malignant, and 1 was cancerous. It says the polyp had zero margins, so I believe that means the surgeon got it all out. I’m waiting now to hear from her to be certain all is well.
