Going from a Triad to a V

Update: M maintains that she would be fine with whatever D and I decided, but he has decided that he doesn't feel he's able to give me what I need right now. We both have a lot of other stuff going on in our lives, which I won't get into, and he doesn't feel he can be as supportive as he would need to be as a boyfriend. So we're just going to be friends now. He says he still has feelings for me and maybe we'll try again someday when circumstances are different, and I know that sounds like what everyone says to soften the blow of a breakup, but I believe him. He's never given me a reason to not trust him to say what he means.

Awww, sorry it ended up like that. I hope you and D and M can still be friends anyway.
