Greetings from Ohio

Hello! I will try to keep this brief (eek!) and on point since I did read the intro guidelines. ;)

I was born and raised in metro Detroit (MI) where the rest of my family still resides. I have lived in Northeast Ohio for the last 10 years with a short stint in Tampa, FL prior to that.

Most people that know me nowadays would say I am gay; I consider myself bisexual as I have dated men in my past and then again recently (more than happy to answer questions on that). :) Oh, and I'm single in every sense. LOL

I describe myself as quirky :D but I'm also kind, smart, funny, and very curious, to give you an idea of who I am. I have a twin sister who "gave" me the 2 most previous people in the world to me - my niece and nephew. <3

I like tech (I dabble in it for my school district job), music, sports, art, coffee and tea and eating. :p

Greetings LibertyBelle,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

I lived in metro Detroit (Clinton Twp) for about 20 years til 2006, although I was born and raised in Utah. So when you say metro Detroit it brings back memories. I also read your Dating & Friendships post, it was a good post and gave a lot of information. I am curious, how long have you known about poly, and what made you interested in it?

I'm glad you could join us, hope you enjoy your stay.
Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

Notes:

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Please read through the site guidelines if you haven't already.

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!

Hello, Kevin~Official Greeter!! :) I hope your memories of the metro Detroit area are fond ones. It sometimes gets a bad rep but we're good people. In fact, I see a lot of similarities between Cleveland and Detroit in terms of rebuilding, etc.

Thank you for all of the resources. I have been reading some past threads/posts but there is a *ton* of info to pour over so I know it will take a while.

I can't say there is something definitive pointing me to poly and like I said in my "dating" post, it may not end up being for me but I am in exploration mode. I am fairly openminded and like to consider myself fluid in how I see roles, genders, sexuality and relationships. To me poly dynamics is just an extension of that though I know not as simple as my statement implies. ;) In the end, even if I just ended up a supporter of all things poly, I know from my LGBTQ experiences that like-minded friends are important.

Yes, I have many good memories from my time in metro Detroit. I almost want to move back there, but it's such a long flight from Detroit to Utah.

I should note that you need not be poly in order to be welcome on these poly boards. As long as you want to be here, you are welcome. It seems to me that you are an open-minded person, which will make you a perfect fit (and hopefully you'll feel the same about us). You can definitely make friends here. :D

No hurry on reading through the various things! Take your time and make yourself at home. :)

new member, also in ohio!

hey liberty belle and kevin, glad to be here. metro detroit is such a fun place, we hang out there when we can. i am about an hour south of there, near toledo.

i came out as bisexual to my husband a few years ago and we have grown so much to them. we are currently reading More Than Two together and he just came out to me, he isn’t labeling himself, but he is fluid.

we are open minded, and have spent the last year really working through any loose ends, emotionally, in our relationship, as individuals and in our homemaking.

i am so glad to have found a group where we can discuss our growth and look forward to making some new friends.

Hello merrycontrary, welcome to our forum. It is great to see another member that is open to poly. I hope you will enjoy your stay.

Hello! :) I probably pass by you on my way up to MI when visiting family. ;) I live in Avon Lake, about 20 miles west of Cleveland (I think ). I really like Levis Commons in Perrysburg - is that near you?

Hi LibertyBelle...I just joined this forum and started searching for posts with 'Ohio' in them. I came across your introduction here and wanted to say hello. I am not too far from you in North Ridgeville. It seems like we have some similarities. If you are still active on this site (I know your post was from earlier this year), please feel free to respond and hopefully we can begin talking.

Welcome, Tribefan216. :)
