Hello everybody.

I am a bisexual college student who lives in Connecticut. I searched out this forum because lately I have been facing a lot of isolation.... even though I have been socializing. I am a vegan, I love chemistry and biology, I have a grudge against television, and I have really obscure tastes in media. I haven't been able to fully relate to anybody in a long time. My anxiety is building and I feel my heart is hardening.
 
That is an ugly post by itself. I am a nice guy, just going through some hard times. I look forward to getting to know the community here! It is nice to know we all share a beautiful thought together no matter where we are within it.

Socializing has to be treated like working-out muscles in our body. The more you push through the pain of starting a socialization program, the better you`ll feel.

If you cave to the pain of it, your isolation will get flabby....and so will your feelings about yourself and others.

It always feels awkward at first, don`t let your feelings in those beginner stages dictate your judgement.

Welcome to our forum.

There's a lot of participation here and many people you can meet and make friends with, even if they don't all live nearby. As for socializing with people in real life, just be patient as it takes time to find people one fully relates to. Regardless of how well you relate to someone, always extend kindness their way. They'll usually return the favor. There's things we pretty much all have in common as human beings, including that feeling of isolation from time to time.

I hope this site is of help. Take a look around on the various threads and see what calls to you.
