Hello...and Thanks For The Support You've Given So Far

SEEKER2020 here.

Just realized I failed to introduce myself before starting a thread on the other section.

I'm a divorced male in my late-30s. I came to this forum mostly for support due to the recent break up of an important relationship after we gave Poly a try. You can read the story here http://www.polyamory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70806

I also came to this forum to find additional wisdom as I continue learning more about myself as a sexual being. As of now I wouldn't say that I am a fully fledged non-monogamist or Poly (or whatever the label might be), but I do have a staunch sense of curiosity about human behavior. Based on my experiences with divorce and unfulfilling periods of serial monogamy, I am at a place in my life in which I am seriously questioning and scrutinizing everything I "knew" about human sexuality and monogamy.

At times I feel that I might more "monogamish" than Poly- using Dan Savage's term. But I think there might be an overlap between the two, so I remain open to learning more about the subtle differences

Thanks to those of you who already provided support in the thread I linked above. That support has helped me tremendously as I grieve the loss of a relationship.

Greetings seeker2020,
Welcome to the forum -- now it's official! Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

Nice Heisenberg avatar, by the way.

Hope you find Polyamory.com to be a useful tool in exploring your own sexual and relationship preferences/inclinations. The site covers a wide range of subject material so you should be able to find just about whatever you're looking for. If you can't find it already posted, just post the thought/question/concern yourself; you'll probably get a lot of responses. Plus we have search, tag search, and advanced search. All useful tools.

Again my sympathies on your recent breakup, and I hope you'll find some healing here as well. And way to call it on those book choices! (Sex at Dawn and Opening Up.) I think they'll both help you a lot in your journey of self-exploration.

Thanks for joining us, and hope we'll have many more conversations over time.
Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

Notes:

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Please read through the guidelines if you haven't already.

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks so much!!!
