Hi! I'm whirl, 29, living with my gf An. I've been self-described poly for about 10 years. An and I have been together for around 6 months. She has never been involved with someone like me before and I'm super happy that she's so open minded. I mentioned when we started hanging out that I was poly but I don't think it sunk in until recently, so we've been discussing it and it's really opened up our communication, which is fantastic.

Right now it's just the two of us, but my life long friend T and I are discussing deepening our relationship. T is married and her husband isn't sure about all this. So things are bound to be interesting over the next little while and I thought it might be nice to find a good online community for support, fun, and all of that.

Hi I'm the An from the original post...

My name is Maenad. Whirl is my bf and as he mentioned this is a new experience for me. At first, it sounded scary, insecure, temporary, fleeting... well, that should paint a pretty good picture. But to my surprise and delight... I feel so open and willing to try this...to try anything (at least once :p )

I have to agree with Whirl, open communication has been so wonderful. No matter where this new chapter in life will lead us, I feel so confident that it will be positive, enlightening, and a life enriching experience.

So I am very interested in your input and sharing my experience with you on the forum.

MadameMaenad and whirlingdervish, I'm not sure what part of Washington state you're in, but there are some pretty active poly communities in Seattle, Vancouver and Portland. It might be helpful to hook in with the communities there.
