Hi to everyone on the fourms,

I am very new to this site and just found it. I was looking around at the posts first before I decided to jump in but seeing the good information and the helpful people I decided to sign up. I am glad I did.

In between cliff diving, living with a pride of lions, and searching for buried treasure in my spare time, I’ve been logging a lot of hours in my beloved profession lately (IT sales) with the goal of actually retiring someday while still being able to afford both food and shoes! If you’re looking for me, you might also find me in a funky second-hand bookstore, or walking around town discovering hidden treasures.

I’m a born and bred native Michigan girl, who lived in Florida and the great city of Boston long enough to realize I missed the changing seasons and the great lakes of Michigan. So I moved back to be closer to home with my parents, sister and my two awesome nephews.

I find great satisfaction from the most ordinary things: a good book to read with its snowing...good manners on the freeway...a brisk walk with the dog... and having great conversations in any setting. I’m easy going and try to remember to have a positive outlook whenever possible. And it’s almost always possible.

I am recently single, my BF and i drifted apart over the past several months and realized it was time to go our separate ways. I think some of that was due to what I wanted in a relationship and what he wanted. My past relationship before him was a poly one with a married couple. I wont get into all of that now but I must say it was one of the most loving, amazing and beautiful relationships I had...Maybe that ruined me LOL. I would have loved to find a relationship like that again but he was just not ready for that. Anyway I decided to come here and learn from other people who are like minded.

What am I hoping to find? What am I looking for? Well I know at this point in my life the traditional relationship is out. I want to see what other relationships that develop between people. I will be reading posts and seeing what I can learn and what I can contribute to this forum.

Smiles,
Beth

Welcome to the Forum, Beth! I've been here a few months now - and have found most folks here to be friendly and helpful - with lots of sound advice and solid info. Best of luck on your continued poly journey! Al

Beth, you sound like a lovely person. Welcome! If you ever wander to Colorado Springs, get in touch. I would love to introduce you to my favorite funky second hand bookstore, and have some conversations! People and stories are my favorite and you sound like a person with many stories to tell.

Best wishes in your journey, whatever you find, I hope it's wonderful!

Hi Beth

Welcome to the forums. I'm relatively new myself. When I first heard of polyamory, I thought relationship options were limited to monogamy, polyamory or something called swinging which I knew nothing about. There's actually a whole tonne more, along with more ways to do poly than I can imagine.

Welcome, and I hope the forum is helpful to you. Dig away in the archives here. There's buried treasure to be sure. ;)

Greetings Beth,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

I was a Michigander for quite a few years myself ... and there are things that I miss. I hope you enjoy your stay on Polyamory.com and that you'll find many people who are like-minded. I think you will.

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

Notes:

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Please read through the guidelines if you haven't already.

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!
