Hello from a newbie

Hello! Where to start? I am really new to all of this. It's taken me 9 months just to register and post something. In fact polyamory wasn't even on my radar screen until I watched the show Sister Wives and became aware that I was intrigued with the concept of multiple partners. Then in searching I stumbled upon the word polyamory. Then I found some blogs, like David Noble's, and eventually, I found this board. Yaaaa!
I am married with three children, a Christian, love to cook and sew and love Disney World. I am straight as far as I know. The question kicking around in my head is, am I polyamorous? So that is why I am here. Trying to figure out where I stand. I haven't mentioned anything to anyone yet. So there you have it. My introduction :)
Looking forward to discussions and learning more from all of you! :D

Blessings,

Greetings Savedbygrace,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

Glad you found us; polyamory is still a little-known phenomenon out there in the mainstream world. I hope we can provide the info and wisdom you need to help you decide whether poly is for you. Even if it isn't, it's a good thing to learn about.

Since you mentioned being a Christian, I thought I'd pimp my new thread, What Do You Make of Jesus? We've had some non-Christians vote in the poll, but I don't think any Christians have voted there yet. We could use your voice and opinion, if you're interested.

I was raised in a very active Mormon home, definitely Christian thru much of my adult life. Things changed for me in the 1995-2005 decade, but I haven't forgotten my roots.

Anyway, glad to have you with us.
Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome

Welcome SavedbyGrace,

As an exploratory into the poly lifestyle, there is actually a lot of great reading material out there for you to explore. My advise to you is to read as much as you can, and explore your feelings.

The Polyamorists Next Door by Elisabeth Sheff is really interesting book ( and with the help of readers, and tablets it can be kept private).

While it does discuss families and children raising, the first half of the book discusses the dynamic of different poly relationships, who does poly and reasons why. I found it really helpful when I was exploring the dynamics of my poly nature and relationship.

Thank you both for such a warm welcome!

Kevin, I took the poll and will post my beliefs in a few minutes. Trying to gather my thoughts ;)

Thank you Earthwriters for that great link! I really appreciate it!

I am really enjoying exploring and thinking about things. So much to learn and I find I am restructuring and reconsidering how I view relationships. Kinda hard to hold it all in soooooo I am hoping to chat on the boards and join in.

Thanks again for letting me hang out!
Blessings,
