Hello from Colorado!

Hi everyone!!

Where to start...where to start... I'm a mountain girl, born and raised in Colorado. I'll be the person on here the most, but I'm sure my boyfriend will be on from time to time, so I'll write this up for both of us.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 years and we have a son. We're always outdoors in the summer. We love fishimg, camping, hiking, Jeeping and hunting. In the winter, we basically work, haha.

We've been in an open relationship this whole time, but are just now exploring poly.

Just wanted to say hello and make some new like minded friends! :)

Greetings mtncouple,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

I'm sure you will be able to make some friends here, we are a friendly group. Just keep posting here and there, and let us know if you have any questions!

Glad to have you with us,
Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

Notes:

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Please read through the guidelines if you haven't already.

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!

Hi mtncouple - welcome to the Forum! I've been here a few months after my wife requested that we open our marriage to poly - found most folks to be friendly and helpful with lots of sound advice and solid info. Best of luck on your poly journey! Al

Thank you!

Thanks! It's been a journey so far. :) Best of luck to you guys as well. If I might ask, how is it working for you guys so far?

Kevin and I are each in an MFM-V situation (2 men are in a relationship with the same woman. She is the "hinge" of the V, the men are the "legs" or "arms" of the V. The two men are said to be "metamours" to one another and may or may not know each other. They may be friends in some cases, but if they should become sexually or romantically involved, the V would then become a "triad"). Kevin has been doing this for a number of years, I believe, and seems to be well adjusted - judging by his posts, but I will let him speak for himself.

I came into the poly world and this forum when my wife asked me back in December to open our marriage so she could explore her resurgent feelings for an old college bf (full story in the signature link below). Ultimately, we did choose poly for our marriage - but it required a lot of work on my part as I was most certainly not in favor of the idea. Closing in on eight months since that initial poly-bomb, poly would still not be my first choice, but I have reached the point where I am reasonably comfortable with it.

I recently talked more about the process of coming to poly from a strong mono mentality in this thread:
http://www.polyamory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90482 - one entry at the bottom of the first page, and another on the next page.

Again, best of luck on your poly adventure. Al

Yes, things are going well for my V and me. More can be read about it in my blog.
