Hi, polyamory.com members.

I'm Alluvion, and I live in Ontario with my spouse. We've been theoretically polyamorous for our entire relationship, but it was only something we began actively pursuing earlier this year for various reasons (health, time, etc).

My spouse has a girlfriend he started seeing about six months ago. It definitely wasn't a requirement for them dating, but I've been pleasantly surprised by the friendship I've developed with my metamour since they started dating. She's a very nice person, and we have a lot in common.

I've been dating around a bit, but I'm not seeing anyone at the moment. I'm demisexual, so I need to get to know people first before getting into a relationship with them.

If the admins read this, yes I have read the forum guidelines. :)

I must confess that I don't know what else to write in an introduction, so I'll stop here. I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi Alluvion - and welcome to the Forum! We will look forward to hearing more of your story as it unfolds. We do have a good number of experienced poly folks here who are generally helpful and friendly - so please do not hesitate to join in the conversation and post any specific thoughts or questions that you may have. The General Poly Discussion and Poly Relationship Corner sections are both quite active.

Best of luck on your journey! Al

Greetings Alluvion,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

It sounds like you are relatively new to poly, I hope if you have any questions we can answer them. Make yourself at home and keep reading and posting, we are a friendly but nutty bunch! ;) Glad you could join.

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

Notes:

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!

It's pretty nice to have someone well-centered step in, so welcome.

Us too, we have "plain vanilla" poly insofar as no drama. Same thing with the wife and mistress. I've been the third wheel, with them just chirping along like birds.

So don't feel so all alone, lol.
