Hello from Southern Illinois

My husband and I have been in the poly lifestyle for a year now and are learning as we go. I attended a group meeting in the St Louis area last weekend that made me realize how important it is to have real life support/friendship. We have absolutely no resources for poly in a local format so I am starting a local group to include Southern Illinois, Cape Girardeau and Paducah area. I would love to have a regular meeting and host events / education. So I am searching the web for ideas and help.

Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

It's great that you are starting a local group. Perhaps the way to start would be to form a Yahoo group and a FetLife group. Then suggest a time and date and ask who would be able to attend. I've never done this type of thing myself, so I'm just kind of throwing suggestions out there.

Hopefully others will have ideas as well.

I am slowly poking around the message board to learn what I can.

I did start a fetlife group and have put it out to the various local BDSM groups. I draw the line at Yahoo though, lol, shudder. Facebook is a possibility down the line but that is a tough one since most do not want relatives knowing what groups they belong to.

Anyway, slowly but surely.
 
FetLife is a good start.
