Hi nice to meet you!

I'm an 18 year old female!
I am new to all this. In the last couple months, my boyfriend (of over four years) and I have been talking about more and more open things until eventually, yesterday, I told him I wanted to try maybe dating other people a little too. Basically at the same time, I came out to him as bi(curious). He says he is curious about dating other people and we are going to slowly work ourselves up to the point where we can be okay with seeing each other with other people (although we told each other that our relationship is our primary one).
If anyone has any pointers or advice, I'd love to hear it!

I think I'd recommend starting with our Golden Nuggets board, which teaches you the basics of polyamory. From there, explore various and sundry of our boards and threads, according to what calls to you. Post any thoughts, questions, experiences, or concerns you may wish to share. In time, you'll have a dialog going with several good members who can share their perspectives and offer support.

In general, communication is your best friend -- especially thorough, honest, considerate communication. You might even want to do a search or tag search for the word "communication."

I'd discuss what primary means to the two of you. Does it mean that you always put each other first? Regardless of whether you are hurtful to other people? Does it mean that you will live and have kids with him but other relationships will still be important, valued and protected?
