Hello everyone, I'm LDF.
I'm male, late 20s and based in Bristol. I've been interested in the poly lifestyle for a few years now. It started at a festival where I met a group of lovely people!! I am a straight male but I've always wanted to explore finding deep and physical connections with other men in a non-sexual capacity. The guys I would hang with would lie in each others laps etc. It was really nice being close to everyone and hearing them talk about their relationships.
I was invited into their fold but at that point I was still too new and the idea of the whole thing was a bit too overwhelming. However, this was until I met a guy that changed everything. As stated, I'm straight however this guy lit up in a completely different way. He had the most beautiful soul and I really wanted to connect with him on a deeper level. Well, it all clicked into place and the poly world made complete sense. If I had a girlfriend and she had wanted to explore a sexual connection with this guy, I would absolutely support and encourage it.
Sadly, this hasn't worked the other way. This is probably due to not knowing many like minded people and thus forming connection with otherwise monogamous people. Some have tried to be understanding and been supportive of me while others haven't been happy about it at all but currently the very best is partners that have "tolerated" my desire to explore.
As you would expect, being "tolerated" doesn't feel good. I'd like to be involved with someone that actively encourages and supports this relatively new curiosity. Luckily, I did find someone that was interested in the poly lifestyle and it was amazing. We would talk things through and even discuss sexual explorations that we had with other people. It was great to finally have a relationship that was open and caring. Sadly, she moved to America...
I'm in university meeting loads of people. Currently, I've only met one person who is interested in this lifestyle but as my luck would have it, she too is moving away (sensing a pattern here?).
I've been dating someone else but she is pretty adornment that she wants us to be a monogamous couple. This girl is amazing and I'd like to stay with her but I also know I've tried this in the past, to suppress my curiosity but its always made me a bit miserable...
That's the basics of my poly journey so far and a sort of introduction to who I am and where I'm at.
