Kevin's Hetero MFM Poly-Fi V

2:22 p.m., Friday the 19th

Snowbunny made her famous chicken noodle soup last night. I don't even like soup, but I like this. Today we'll have leftovers or microwave burritos. Brother-Husband and Snowbunny are still sick, but not as bad, Brother-Husband did go to work today. Snowbunny is off and had a hair appointment, after she got back she took me to get a haircut, plus we stopped at Kelly's and I got a Yukon Jack Perma Frost.

12:57 p.m., Saturday the 20th

Not a lot going on today; we might go on a road trip with Stan tomorrow if BH is feeling up to it. SB says he is really grumpy today, she asked him about the potential road trip and he didn't answer. This isn't unusual behavior on his part, especially if he's still sick. As for SB, she is feeling run down so maybe that still counts as sick? I have not come down with it yet, knock on wood.

7:38 a.m., Sunday the 21st

So we've decided to go on the road trip, which is why I'm up early. For dinner last night SB made a Polish dish, I think she called it haluski, it has cabbage, noodles, onions, and normally I guess bacon but she used turkey instead. Meanwhile I'm slightly worried about getting sick, I can't tell whether there's any mild soreness in my throat.

11:12 a.m., Monday the 22nd

My throat seems fine now, I think I have dodged the bullet. We had a fun road trip yesterday, we went to Madrid (New Mexico), and visited a graveyard there, it is very unique, the opening sign says "the Land of the Dead." We also went to Cerrillos which is nearby, it wasn't so manic, we ate lunch there at a place called "Black Bird Saloon." After the road trip, Stan came over to our house and we had takeout from Il Vicino, I had veggie lasagna and the others had pizza. After that Stan went home, and BH and I watched a Justified episode.

1:04 p.m., Tuesday the 23rd

We had leftovers last night, SB made me the last two microwave burritos, and a little of the leftover haluski. Today one of the dogs (Ginger?) has Rally class, on the way home from that SB says she'll get us some takeout. This makes me happy.

1:17 p.m., Wednesday the 24th

SB got us takeout from Church's Texas Chicken. I'm not usually big on chicken, but I didn't mind this. SB said that Ginger did really well at her Rally class. Ginger didn't get as distracted as she often does. So good for Ginger, she's a good dog.

10:26 a.m., Thursday the 25th

For dinner last night SB made us chili potatoes -- arguably my favorite cooked-at-home meal. She said that today we would have turkeyburgers. She and I might go grocery shopping after dinner. Yeah, my favorite thing for dinner is eating out. Second to that is takeout. Home-cooked meals come in third, although it can depend on what's served. I'm not usually the pizza fan that most people are, also chicken is usually not that high up on my list. And now you know something about my food preferences.

4:00 p.m., Friday the 26th

Along with the turkeyburgers, we had sweet peppers and cottage cheese. SB and I went grocery shopping, it went pretty well. I'm not sure what dinner will be tonight -- something with beets, it looks like. Not a lot going on, things are pretty quiet. BH got home from work early, about half an hour ago.

12:29 p.m., Saturday the 27th

SB made a particular kind of beet soup, it has beets, cucumbers, kefir, and other ingredients, and it is served cold. I actually liked it, it was something different. Today, BH and SB went on a road trip with Stan. SB asked me to sit this one out, she suspects that BH's general mood will improve if he has a break from the four-people setup. To make it worth my while, she is planning to bring me some drinky-drink.

2:49 p.m., Sunday the 28th

SB got me some Carolans Irish cream -- it was a good call. Stan came over for dinner and a visit, we all had a good time, BH and SB are working on a catio for Yuki and Stan helped. For dinner we had ham sandwiches, and the rest of the cold beet soup. I guess the soup is technically called borscht. It had dill in it.

I love red borscht! Now you made me want some! I used to go down to the East Village when I lived in NYC just to have borscht at the Polish and Ukrainian restaurants there. Some of them serve red borscht with a hard-boiled egg in it, too. There's also a white borscht served hot in the colder months. But red borscht is one of my favorite summertime soups, gazpacho and cantaloupe soup being my other two faves.

12:28 p.m., Monday the 29th

I am a huge fan of boiled eggs, so it is a special treat for me when the borscht has boiled eggs in it. I don't know what it is about cold borscht that hits the spot. We have one Polish restaurant in Albuquerque, we can get cold borscht there and it is awesome. The service there is awfully slow though.
