Hello ! :)

I’m a long time lurker. Time to time I come here to read your posts.

I’m divorced. Although I grew up in a loving polyamorous family I was monogamous. Now I’m involved in three different relationships: a married couple, a widow and a single guy. I think my plate is full. :) I was not a risk taker and didn’t have much self-confidence. One can also add inferiority complexity to that. This year, my life has changed dramatically. At middle age I’m truly beginning my life. :) A lot of good years have gone by but I’ve decided to live my life.

I spend most of my time here reading your Life Stories and Blogs. I’m from a far away land. A very conservative and different way of life… Thus we live in a shadow. I’ve learned a lot of new things by reading your experiences and advice. It is as if a new window has opened.

Greetings Alba,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

Sounds like Polyamory.com has already been helpful to you, may that continue to be the case. I looked at your other two posts so far and enjoyed both. I take it your three different relationships started earlier this year? Correct me if I got that mixed up. You seem pretty happy in your new poly life! It's great to have you here officially. :D Let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!

Hi Alba - welcome to the Forum. I will look forward to reading your posts about your busy poly life. I do find it interesting that you grew up in a polyamorous family - back before they even called it "polyamorous". :)

Best of luck on your continuing poly journey! Al

Great to meet you!

Thank you Rockit49. :) Great to meet you, too.

Hi Alba,

I'm glad things are finally working out for you. Welcome to the forums,
Shaya

Thank you Shaya. :) I, too, am glad it is finally working out. It is as if I'm introduced to my life.

Thank you Kevin. :)

I'm happy that you enjoyed my other two posts. My three relationships have stared awhile ago. The first relationship begun six years ago, though I thought it would be a one time thing. It is very interesting how everything changed and it changed for better. :) Yes, :) I'm very happy in my life at this stage.

Thank you for those links.

Thank you Al99. :) I'm not much of a writer. English is not also my first language. But I hope I'll post here and there.

We don't have any word for polyamorous or polyamory. General perception about polyamory is .... bunch of people moral committing sinful acts. To some it should be a punishable crime. Interestingly, both polygyny and polyandry thrived here long time ago. Even about half a century ago, matrilocal families existed. But everything has changed and now the social norm is small heterosexual patrilocal monogamous family.

I used the word polyamorous to describe they type of family I grew up.
