New here

Hi, I'm new :)

So difficult to just introduce myself. I'm from the Detroit Metro area of Michigan. I am married 6 years now to a wonderful man. We have children together, who are amazing, and challenging at times :)

We have been looking into Polyamory for ourselves for a while now, and would love to gain friends who can understand the different joys and challenges of Polyamory.

We have read books, and searched internet articles and websites, but I feel there it is no substitution for real life experienced and having people and friends to talk to.

Greetings Astirarose,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

I believe you'll find many like-minded people to talk to here, and be able to make many friends. I myself follow the various boards pretty closely, other than the blog board. If you have any questions, post them here and I'll try to answer.

What part of Metro Detroit are you in, if you don't mind my asking? I lived in Clinton Township for a lot of years.

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

Notes:

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Please read through the guidelines if you haven't already.

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome to the forum, Astirarose!

There are plenty of people here with all ranges of experiences. Hopefully we can help answer questions as you transition into something new!

Hello Astirarose! Your situation sounds somewhat similar to mine, so I'm glad to see there are other folks around who I should be able to relate to.

Welcome, Astirarose,

I am new here also (6 weeks) but have already found this to be a friendly and helpful forum. If you post specific questions, I have found that there are usually those who will answer. Also - there are so many archived posts in this forum (I believe that I saw a number of over 300,000 pop up at one point - but don't remember where) - that searches are also sure to be useful as well.

It is great that you are coming into Poly together after discussing it as a couple - many times it is one partner who will make the suggestion - and then the other partner often has to get past a lot of pain and hurt before they can process the possibility of poly - or look at the other options. So - looks like a good start to me!

Best,

Al
