Hi Amanda - and welcome to the Forum! We have a good number of experienced poly folks here who are generally helpful and friendly, so please do not hesitate to post your specific thoughts and questions. The Poly Relationships Corner and General Poly Discussion sections are quite active, and you are certain to get some feedback there.

Many find it helpful to think of polyamory as less of a couple-oriented activity, in contrast to the swinger lifestyle (which is mostly couple-centric). While the public perception of poly is often the idea of a couple inviting another individual into their relationship (married or otherwise), in actual practice most poly folks date independently and have their own partners, even if married.

Again - welcome to the Forum, and best of luck on your journey! Al
