Newcomer from Calgary

Hello Admin and everyone,

My name is Steve. From an Asian background. Polyamory was not the majority at all. People would mix it up with polygamy, as most people still think that we "OWN" our partner. And when it's owned, it's not something you can share with others. My partner and I are openminded. We do not limit each other of meeting other people. However, it's not easy to find similar thoughts. Whenever I get close to others, the "others" would think I am cheating on my partner. Being honest, intimacy is a sweet feeling which can lead to many other things. However, I would more prefer to have friends with similar mind set instead of finding a sex partner.

It sounds like you are having some difficulties with finding like-minded people you can hang with. You should have much better luck with interacting with the people here on this site, we are much more positive-minded about polyamory, we do not mix it up with polygamy, and we do not believe a person can "own" another person (outside voluntary Master/slave relationships). Do lots of reading and posting on these boards, you can make new friends.
