Why Poly? Why Not?

Two years ago this straight, passionate monogamous woman came out of a long term marriage with the idea that there has to be something more. Enter an amazing partner in this journey who is enthusiastically encouraging my foray into the poly world. Only thing is, the more I read, the less I think I know.
Sooo, I came across this forum and thought I would venture in.
Any other straight women, looking for new connections with similar minded men, who might have some advice?

I don't know about being a woman, but I also feel that the more i read the less I know.

However, I find this forum authentic. Real problems are discussed Here, not just problems you see in books and articles from smart people who write well, not just struggles or world views from one person - but rather real problems commented on by many different people with different world views. I have found it useful.

I'm a *mostly* straight woman, I'm heteroflexible. I currently have a girlfriend, but I only want a girlfriend if our relationship started while I was in a relationship with a man, but I'm weird. I'm so weirded out every time I read something that I didn't know about and I wonder what else I don't know about, so right now I'm trying to find out more so that I can help more, you know?

Also, isn't it hard to find any straight poly women? I'm the only one that I know, and I know at least five poly women.
 
Hi FracturedLight - welcome to the Forum! While I have not really paid too much attention to the subject, my general impression is that a good number of the women who post regularly here are straight (As Emm pointed out) - so I would tend to believe that you will make some like-minded connections and be able to get some sound advice.
