Wish there were more people

Hi,

I guess some days it would be so nice to have someone to talk to in realtime about being poly because it seems like I am isolated from this. Recently I had been talking to someone about it and I found myself wishing I could just say it to anyone about it but I realized that more people just don't want to understand.

Also even though I might have met someone who believes in it I talk to, cannot practice in real life. He is married but he said it would be a dealbreaker for his current situation. It sort of sounds like he is in a DADT type of relationship. I am not sure I can cope with that. Right now the chat is all theoretical. Just glad to have found a likeminded person.

It would be so nice to just be able to find someone to just have coffee and talk or whatever. I know this sounds like a whine. I have gone to some group meetings here in Florida, but maybe just haven't found a poly friend that isn't necessarily into the formality and just looking for some acceptance.

Sometimes I wish there was a chatroom for poly people :)
 
I would be happy to chat with you online in whatever form you wish. My wife wouldn't mind letting you vent to her, either. There are a couple of others in Idaho that we talk to on Google Hangouts as a group. We can do that, or Skype, or something else.

I know we are not there in person, but we are on and available every day. Let me know if you are interested.
 
So what method works best for you?
 
You can talk to me too, I am extremely open minded and well, lets face it, we are both polyamorous and I don't really have anyone except my Fiance to talk to about it. I tried talking to my best friend but he is too stubborn to understand the concept.

Anyways, If you want to, message me and we will figure out an alternate communication method. ;)
 
Polyamorous Percolations seems to have one or two chat room options -- but as that site garners very little activity, I fear you'd be chatting with crickets.

I guess 7cupsoftea.com is a chat site with some poly people but I don't know how many, nor how many have identified themselves as poly.

Polyamory.com does not have a chat feature as far as I know.

I've googled "poly chat" before and it seems like a few possible hits came up. As for me, I've had awful chat experiences in the past and in general don't like to do it, so I'm afraid I can't help. But, I enjoy having conversations via posting on Polyamory.com threads, and I spend quite a little bit of time on Polyamory.com so if you ever want to "chat" via posting on a thread, I'm open to that.
 
I know the feeling. The only people I have to talk to about day to day poly things are my partners and their wives. It can be a bit lonely in polyworld. Especially in the the rural midwestern area.

Big time! He lives in a conservative part of Long Island as it was described to me. He showed up on the very, very conservative American Chopper show with Paul Teutul Sr.
 
I'll be damned. I thought only country singers could be conservative. ;)

I would love to chat with like-minded as well. It's nice to have a place to talk things out for feedback or just to bounce ideas/thoughts. I've seen Facebook groups but the privacy level leaves much to be desired. I have a yahoo address I feel comfortable sharing for chatting or email.
 
There is a "secret" FB poly group that doesn't blab all over your ticker that you've liked or posted (or replied) on a Poly group. I prefer for people to find out about my relationship on my own terms, not because FB decided it was going to tell everyone. :p

Nice folks - more focused on discussion than "Hey, u hot. Tx 4 the add." ;)
