Advice needed

I am single, but lately I think I am poly. I would like some advice. I have a friend who I am in love with, but she started dating someone else. I have met her partner and have felt slight attraction, as well. Do I tell her my feelings, and if so, how should I go about it ?

Hello riti,

I think you should tell her your feelings. Say something like, "I should tell you that I am attracted to you." And just be prepared to answer questions. No need to take action on your attraction to her partner right now, since it is a slight attraction. Remember that you don't have to act on every crush. Sometimes you can just enjoy the crushy feelings, and leave it at that.

My 2¢,
Kevin T.

Do you think your friend would be interested in polyamory? If you're in love with her, do you think she's in love with you? I am not sure if she is into the gender you are, unless you are also a guy, like her new bf.

You might be getting the hint she isn't into you "that way," since she just started dating someone else.

And since you're new to poly, I'll just let you know that attempting to date in a triad situation, where all three are involved romantically and sexually, is lined with land mines. You could look in Golden Nuggets for information about triads, to see how disastrous they usually are. Your friend might not appreciate you "being in love with her" and also having designs on her brand new bf. Especially if she's not poly as well.
