Greetings Poly-fam

My Wife and I are new to connecting on line. We are in the Kootenay region of BC, Canada. We have been married 9 years and spent the last year separated while working on different recovery/spirituality programs and deeply getting to know ourselves. We are recently back together and feeling stronger as a unit than ever. We look forward to spending the growing season in our garden, along the multiple mountain rivers cooling off connecting with nature while disconnecting from technology. We look forward to growing out connection in such a kind, caring, compassionate and loving community.

Please feel free to reach out and introduce yourself.

Greetings OffgridPolyCpl,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

You seem to have a cool setup, you are outdoors much/most of the time, and you are off the grid. You will reach out into the poly community, and find like-minded individuals with whom you can build a poly life. Welcome!

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Hello and welcome! I am also interested in off-grid living - I live out in the country and utilities are not always reliable here. I like having back-ups for my back-ups. Electricity is our current focus. I have an in-line natural gas back-up generator, it is hella-old and the Kohler serviceman hasn't gotten back to me about whether he can get a replacment for our busted valve (failed in our last power outage - apparently you are supposed to service them more than once every decade! Who knew?) As a result I ended up buying an allegedly "portable" Honda 6500 gasoline generator which ran beautifully for over 24 hours and is my new "baby" (since it kept us from freezing during the last ice storm!). Problem is, the furnace, well pump, septic pump, deep freeze, etc. are hard-wired into the old back-up so I have to get an electrician out to put in a box if I want to be able to run the old system with the new generator. Considering solar with a power bank...the tech wasn't quite there the last time I looked into it, maybe with the new Tesla interest we are close.
