Describe Polyamory?

From our glossary in the Golden Nuggets section:

Polyamorous (adj)
1: practicing or intentionally choosing to practice polyamory
2: someone who desires to form and maintain multiple loving relationships that may include intimacy, sex, romance, and/or relationship escalator practices.

Polyamory (noun)
1: the state or practice of having multiple romantic relationships/loving life-partnerships at a time; responsible non-monogamy based on open honest communication and conscious choices.
2: romantically loving more than one person at a time
3: the state or practice of intentionally choosing to have multiple romantic and/or intimate and/or sexual relationships

Polyandry
1: the state or practice of having two or more male partners or "husbands" at the same time
2: the mating of one female animal with more than one male

Polycule: the collective unit of three or more people linked together through polyamorous, adult relationships. Does not require cohabitation. Think molecule, only each atom is a person, romantically connected to one or more other people. Note: children are not considered a part of a polycule

Polygamous
1: practicing polygamy
2: of, engaging in or characterized by polygamy

Polygamy: the practice of having more than one legal wife or husband at one time

Polygyny
1: the state or practice of having two or more female partners or "wives" at the same time
2: the mating of a male animal with more than one female
 
Hello froundponddotcom,

My view is that polyamory is any instance in which someone has more than one romantic partner -- with the knowledge and consent of all, of course.
