FL couple growing together

Hi Everyone!

My love and I have been together for almost 11 years. We are parents to a wonderfully exuberant five year old, and have recently decided to open up our relationship. We're here to read and learn and find community. :)

This change is exciting for us and we are curious to see how our life story continues to evolve over time. We are so looking forward to growing as individuals and as a couple. :) We have already talked and read so much but have not officially "dove in." Our plan is to continue to talk in order to gain a deeper understanding of each other's desires and needs and insecurities. Thankfully I am a natural communicator and am stimulated by conversations that challenge my thinking and help me GROW! :)

We are hopeful to be able to effectively manage our time, grow our compersion, and navigate our version of coming out smoothly. Glad to be here with like-minded folks!
 
Hi! Are you a MF couple? Which one are you? We recommend each partner gets their own account if you both plan to be posting. Shared accounts are a no-no.

It sounds like you are taking some time and not rushing into things. That is a wise move. Poly and other open relationships have a lot to be learned. If you can, read the book, "Opening Up: a guide to creating and sustaining open relationships," by Tristan Taormino. Also read and post a lot on Polyamory.com ... such as posting any questions you may have, things like that.

Oops yes! M/F couple, lady here. :) I don't plan for us both to post from this account or anything. But I am the first to create one and am the one with more free time right now so I will be sharing what I can with him as far as post content goes.

We have both gotten all the way through Opening Up and really enjoyed it. Glad to hear that was a good starting point! :) More Than Two is next on my list.
