Hello from the UK!

Hi all,

My name's Helen, I'm 34 from Bristol, UK, married, dog owner & fish keeper and a kink & disabilities blogger. Hubby and I opened up our marriage after two years following my accidental emotional affair (my parents were open so talking to other people about sex seemed totally normal to me!) and have been happy ever since. For us it is about lasting friendships and emotional connections first, and anything else thereafter. We are kinky (Mf) and have been part of the local BDSM community since 2006. I am agender, sapiosexual and pansexual. She/her pronouns preferred, but I'm okay with they for sakes of inclusitivity.

We are consensually mono-poly, although hubby is open to a threesome or foursome as well. For him that would be purely about sex, whereas I am able to love more than one person at once, romantically.

Our boundaries are that we don't have penetrative sex (vaginal or anal) with anyone other than one another, with or without protection, and we don't spend the night away from one another at this time. The latter may change as trust, comfort etc changes but we expect the former to remain.

I do have a LD partner who is purely an emotional connection at this time. We have been friends for years and he opened up to me about his feelings for me, on the back of my previous poly relationship which turned toxic and abusive. However, despite a mutual openness to seeing how that relationship could work, it has never progressed beyond the "I think I like you" stage.

So that's me. Hello, hi! :)

Greetings Helen,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

I looked at your other thread, and responded there briefly. To summarize, it is your right to choose your criteria for breaking up or staying together. Don't fault yourself for discovering an incompatibility.

Thanks for sharing your story, and a look at your perspectives and agreements. I wish you the very best, and hope you enjoy your stay on Polyamory.com!

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter" :)
