Hey all! My name is Ismay. I've been poly for about 8 years and only recently got into my first poly relationship which took a horrible turn, became verbally and emotionally abusive, caused me to lose someone I thought was a friend, and gain a wonderful partner. I'm so glad I found this site as I'm going through a lot right now and could use the camaraderie and any insights you all may have. There is a post i am adding to the relationships thread with more details about my last damaged relationship (Rollercoaster of emotions)

I haven't always been in situations where I can be in multiple relationships, I have a hard time dating to begin with. But I know I have the capability for it. I have so much love to give and it just feels right, even when I can't find multiple partners to share it with. I'm the type of person that loves my friends to death and I'm like the 'mom friend' because I care so much about all of them.

I have read your other thread, and responded there briefly. Basically, I know you have been through some rough times, but you must hang on to the good that came out of it. Don't let your abuser take away the good (and she will try). You are truly polyamorous, and you will experience a truly positive poly relationship in due time. Maybe sooner than you expected!
