I am a 34 year old guy who's been through a few largely unsuccessful relationships, never married. Currently in a LDR with anamikanon.

Many here already know how I massively fucked up last year with NRE (a term I'm only now beginning to understand), and am avowedly monogamous since.

None of my past relationships were poly in any sense.

Welcome to the forums. I'm pretty new here myself. Don't beat yourself too much with the NRE thing. I think everyone's guilty of that at one time or another.

If you've since found any useful resources on NRE, please share them for me in this thread I recently created.

My mobile phone's auto-correct in the post above spelt sexy instead of spexy. I found myself quickly correcting it before it started a jealousy war. :p

ROFL. Frankly your post was the first time ever I saw someone else call him Spexy and I was .... ok, I didn't see this coming when I nicknamed him for here :D

I think if you'd called him sexy, it would have been easier :D

Jealousy is a non-issue for both of us so far. Luckily.

Well, you are in good company - a lot of people fuck up under the influence of a flood of brain chemicals, I certainly did. (My story is recorded in the Jackassery section of my Journey blog here.). On the other hand, recovering from our mistakes and receiving forgiveness and rebuilding trust often teaches us valuable lessons for avoiding such upheaval in future endeavors.

Thank you Jane - both for the welcome and for sharing your life experiences. Having seen way less life myself, it is helpful to see how relationships, and particularly poly, can be handled.

Tinwen, thank you for the encouraging message. I admit it's been a struggle, partly because I am never sure if I am communicating adequately or even appropriately, but I do hope to make amends as best as I can.
 
I thought we pretty much all say the same things 95% of the time, just in different ways. Take the current 12 page long massive thread that shall remain nameless. I think we're all saying the same thing there. ;)
