Kevin's Hetero MFM Poly-Fi V

2:08 p.m., Sunday the 22nd

For dinner we had Polish sausage (Kowalski), with veggies and sauerkraut, out of the slow cooker. Sam had a visit and dinner with us, all very enjoyable as it always is. Today I am enjoying a half cup of Rumple Minze. I can't think of anything else to tell you for the moment. Snowbunny made us sandwiches for lunch. Brother-Husband has been watching a sports game (football I think).

3:14 p.m., Monday the 23rd

For dinner last night SB made us fajita wraps. It was really good, I had seconds and thirds. On Christmas Day, SB will go to South Carolina to be with her parents (mother and stepfather) for Christmas, I believe both of her sisters will be there. BH and I will have Christmas here at home, Sam might join us. That's all I have to tell you for today.

1:47 p.m., Tuesday the 24th

We had fajita wraps again last night ... and I have to say, if anything they were even better the second time around. SB has an early flight tomorrow; I probably won't see her off. Christmas isn't very exciting to me -- none of the holidays are -- so I don't have any significant feelings about SB not being here for Christmas. When I was a kid, Christmas was a BFD.

11:26 a.m., Wednesday the 25th

For dinner last night SB made us a dish with sausage and veggies. After dinner BH and I watched a Six Feet Under episode, while SB packed for her trip to South Carolina. Amazingly, the episode was a Christmas episode -- totally unplanned.

Right now I believe BH is taking the dogs for a walk. Sometime after he gets back, we'll probably watch some more stuff on TV. I don't know whether Sam will come over today. That's all I have to tell you for the moment.

2:23 p.m., Thursday the 26th

Sam didn't come over yesterday, but BH and I did watch a couple of (Pirates of the Caribbean) movies. For dinner, BH pulled a few pasties out of the freezer, and put them in the oven. In the meantime, SB made it to South Carolina safe and sound.

3:21 p.m., Saturday the 28th

On Thursday BH brought us pizza for dinner, Little Caesars with stuffed crust, and we watched a couple of Six Feet Under episodes. Yesterday, on Friday, BH brought us Church's chicken (and sides), and Sam joined us for dinner and a visit. We had fun. After Sam went home, BH and I watched another Six Feet Under episode. Today, I think BH and Sam went out for a road trip or something on that order. BH said we'd have leftovers for dinner tonight. If all goes well, SB will arrive home tomorrow at c. 9:30 p.m.

3:09 p.m., Sunday the 29th

Not much to report to you today, we had leftovers and then watched another Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I guess BH is in charge of dinner again today, and hopefully SB will get home safe and sound tonight.

3:56 p.m., Monday the 30th

SB got home safe and sound alright, but some four hours late and after huge headaches involving the weather and crappy treatment by the airline staff. SB says she's done with American Airlines.

BH and I got takeout at Chipotle for dinner, it was really good although BH has a point that the lady serving us kind of skimped a little on amount of ingredients. After dinner, BH and I watched a couple of Six Feet Under episodes.

Today, SB and I went out to do a few errands including grocery shopping. In just a few minutes, SB will leave to go get a massage. That will take a while, so she wants to do an easy dinner, possibly spaghetti and plant-based meatballs. Or maybe BH will make us dinner.

3:45 p.m., Tuesday the 31st

I think SB made dinner, she heated up some plant-based chicken nuggets for us, and we each had a sweet potato. SB says tonight will be a taco night. After that things will get rough for SB -- as she works for a credit union and this is year's end, she will have to work tonight, possibly from 8:30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. -- or later.

5:31 p.m., Thursday the 2nd

SB made us Mexican yesterday and the day before, and she said she'd make Mexican today as well. It's like I've died and gone to my happy place. I love Mexican food.

3:04 p.m., Friday the 3rd

I did extra work yesterday and today, cleaned the toilet and the shower that I use. They're in my attached bath, so I should be the one who cleans them, I'm just saying I'm glad the job's done. I don't know what we're going to have for dinner tonight. Something with lentils maybe?

2:59 p.m., Saturday the 4th

It was a curry thing, with the lentils, it was pretty good. SB also made rice to go with it, sadly the rice was crunchy, but that's okay, we'll still have more of it as leftovers, with a better batch of rice.

After dinner, the three of us watched two more Breaking Bad episodes. We might watch more tonight, I don't know what we'll have for dinner. It's been a fairly uneventful day so far.

12:59 p.m., Sunday the 5th

For dinner last night we got takeout from a local Chinese place. I had egg foo young, SB had that too, it was good. BH had shrimp in lobster sauce, he did like it, he just thought it odd that it was so soupy. After dinner we watched a Breaking Bad episode.

Tomorrow I have to do jury duty -- not fun. Not looking forward to it. I don't know how long it will take, I might not get back to this forum until Tuesday.

12:03 p.m., Sunday the 12th

So I got picked to be an actual juror in a jury, so this past week has been spent largely at the courthouse, and I have not had a chance to get back to this forum until the weekend. I can't talk about the trial until it's over, so I'll get back to you on that. They think we have one more day of testimony (tomorrow), then a day or two of deliberation. I'm just hoping to get caught up on my internet stuff today. Sam was over yesterday for dinner and a visit, that was enjoyable. SB made us chili for dinner, it was also good, the beans weren't crunchy. That's all I have to tell you for now.

Wow that's a long trial! I've only ever been in the juror pool but never had to even go to the court. I'm curious about being on the jury, but wouldn't want a multi-day trial lol.

2:52 p.m., Tuesday the 14th

Yeah I think this one's running long, we finally got done with testimony today, now we just have closing arguments and deliberation. I didn't want to serve on a jury, but now that I am, I am finding it pretty interesting. Plus they pay twelve dollars an hour, which is a lot compared to other states.

3:11 p.m., Friday the 17th

The trial is done now; it ended yesterday, so I can talk about it now. Let me know if anyone has any questions for me. The defendant was Gabriel DeSoto, in case you want to google it. It was a child abuse case, where doctors found severe injuries in the kids on multiple occasions, consistent with child abuse ... but no one witnessed the abuse, there was no camera footage, nothing in the way of direct evidence. The injured kids were six weeks and 22 months old when these things happened. It was an extremely hard case to decide. The jury ruled not guilty on five of six counts, and was unable to come to a unanimous ruling on one count. The judge chatted with the jury after the trial, and said that Mr. DeSoto might get retried for that one count. Maybe. In the meantime, I guess Mr. DeSoto is back in the lives of those children. Gods help them ...

That sounds rough, Kevin. I'm sure you did your best.

11:29 a.m., Saturday the 18th

Most of us thought that the guy probably did it, but because there were unanswered questions and doubts, we felt we had to vote not guilty. We were told to not consider the results of our verdict, so even though the kids would be in danger, we let him go free. All of the jurors were cool people, and carefully considered every angle. I don't think we could have come back with a guilty verdict. It's out of our hands now.

11:03 a.m., Sunday the 19th

Things are gradually settling back into our normal routines. We had tamales for dinner, and watched one Breaking Bad episode, after a football game that BH was watching. We might watch another episode tonight.
