Kevin's Hetero MFM Poly-Fi V

1:03 p.m., Thursday the 28th

Last night for dinner we had veggie burgers and salad. Snowbunny tried a new recipe for dessert, some kind of lemon/ricotta cake. It was okay, but it would have been nice if it was sweeter. Snowbunny gave it a C. I don't know whether Brother-Husband had any of it. Tonight, Brother-Husband and Snowbunny will have soup. Snowbunny will make me a chili potato (one of my favorites). Tomorrow, I board a plane and fly out to visit my relatives in Utah for about five days. I'm a little stressed-out about the traveling.

Have a safe and wonderful trip

10:35 a.m., Saturday the 30th

Thanks, I reached my destination safely. My relatives are spending much of the Labor Day weekend up in the mountains, so I'll probably go up there every day while I'm here. Then I just hope for a safe flight back to New Mexico.

It's been good here so far. I just long to get back to my familiar surroundings. I'm staying at my older brother's house right now. He's quite nice to me.

2:17 p.m., Sunday the 31st

The trip has been going pretty smoothly so far, not perfect, but no major hitches. But in all honesty, I have to say I'm glad it's only five days, I'll be glad to get back to my good old comfortable surroundings, not that I'm uncomfortable, but you know, it's the little things that I miss. I guess it's good, in a wistful way, that Rainee has passed away, she doesn't have to wonder where I am or when I'll be back. Maybe the dogs miss me, I suppose BH and SB miss me too. I miss my home.

7:58 a.m., Monday the 1st

I woke up early today, decided I might as well get up. I'm at my older brother's house (I've been calling him Dave?). At about 9:00 a.m. we are leaving to drive up the (American Fork) canyon and help clean up the group site where the relatives have been getting together over the weekend. Not sure what we'll do for the rest of the day, I'm just going with the flow.

11:19 a.m., Tuesday the 2nd

Dave has a hot tub in his backyard. Last night, I, Dave, and Dave's wife lounged in the hot tub, Dave gave me some beer while we were there, Dave's wife had a smoke while we were there. Today, Dave and I took his dog Kiki to get a haircut. In about twenty minutes, Dave and I will go to see a movie (Sketch). Tonight, we'll meet with my mother and her husband at a Mexican restaurant in American Fork. Tomorrow, I'll fly back to New Mexico. It has been a fun trip, but I'll be glad to get back to my comfortable/familiar surroundings. To everything just the way I like it. Away from all these church buildings, and this massive population explosion. Highland used to be wide open farm country. No longer.

9:47 a.m., Wednesday the 3rd

Huh. Well the movie was tolerable, but I didn't think it was all that. I'd give it a C. Me and Dave were in agreement on that point.

I go home today, hopefully I'll have a safe (and uneventful) flight. The flight is scheduled to take off at 3:00 p.m., the estimated flight time is one hour and 44 minutes. Not bad (as airline travel goes), I'm glad I live in a state that touches Utah (without living in Utah).

It's been a fun trip, but I'll be glad to get back home (even though Rainee won't be able to greet me at the door, which is what she always used to do). Dave is quite a hospitable brother and very generous (and is a well-paid engineer which helps facilitate that), but he is also, well very assertive, and tends to push and push until I cave in. He bought me a couple of shirts, which is awfully nice, but they are also button-down shirts which I don't like. He bought them without asking me about that, and then proceeded to push and push until I caved in and wore one today. See this is one of the reasons why five days in Utah is more than enough. BH and SB are much less tightly wound, and give me lots of freedom to live how I want.

3:29 p.m., Thursday the 4th

The flight was good, I am now home again in Albuquerque. SB picked me up at the airport, and she and I had dinner at a local Italian restaurant. I had spinach lasagna, she had one of their veal entrées. BH suggested we place an order for him and bring it to him at home. I can't remember what he had us order, but he seemed to like it. Tonight we'll have some kind of veggie chicken burgers, plus a cucumber salad. On Saturday, the dogs have a Barn Hunt practice in Las Cruces. Stan will join the three of us and the dogs, and we will all drive down there together. It is quite a hike, so we'll have to leave at about 5:15 a.m., after which we'll go straight to Stan's house and pick him up.

1:59 p.m., Friday the 5th

Besides the burgers and cucumber salad, we had eggplant slices baked with parmesan. To tell you the truth, I didn't care for those slices. Normally I'm all about cheese, but I have stricter preferences when it comes to parmesan.

12:39 p.m., Sunday the 7th

Yesterday's trip went well. Stan, BH, and I visited various thrift stores and places of interest, while SB and the dogs did Barn Hunt practice. I guess the dogs did really good. Also I was somewhat surprised, as far south as Las Cruces is, I would have expected a lonely desert town, instead it is quite green, clean, and booming. After we got home, Stan joined us for dinner and a visit. We picked out various songs that have to do with the ocean, and watched videos of them. Hanging out with Stan is always a fun time. For dinner, SB made us her famous tuna/rice/green bean casserole (with crunchy fried onions on top). Good times.

1:39 p.m., Monday the 8th

For dinner last night SB made us some kind of African curry. It was pretty decent, but too sweet, SB even said so without prompting. For dessert we had some kind of pecan thing, again pretty decent but not all that. SB discarded the recipe, still looking for the perfect dessert. Tonight Ginger has a Rally class, it looks like we'll just have canned soup for dinner. That's all I have to tell you for now.

2:53 p.m., Tuesday the 9th

SB made me a chili potato, so I was a happy camper. The dogs both have a Rally class tonight, so I don't know whether we'll have an early or a late dinner. It's looking like we're going to have more of those clear/transparent/rubbery noodles, I have to admit I'm not thrilled about that.

1:17 p.m., Wednesday the 10th

Well as anticipated, the noodles sucked, but the sauce and meatballs were good. SB volunteered that she knew I didn't like the noodles, and promised not to order any more of them. Eddie has some kind of practice tonight (probably Rally), so I guess we'll have another early dinner? I don't know what we'll have this time.

12:30 p.m., Thursday the 11th

We basically had the same thing again last night. With slight variations -- the meatballs were turkey, there were mushrooms in the sauce, and we all had cheese on top. Well that's fine. Hopefully that was the end of those rubbery noodles. The reason I didn't like them (other than the texture -- blah) was because the flavor (what little flavor they had) was unpleasant. Anyway, neither dog has class tonight, so we might have more of a "regular" dinner. We'll see. I know SB goes to a lot of trouble to make good/healthy dinners for us.

3:52 p.m., Friday the 12th

For dinner yesterday, SB cooked us up some tamales. Not bad. Today, she has made a batch (or two?) of chocolate chip pumpkin cookies. Something nice to satisfy one's sweet tooth. I don't know what we'll have for dinner tonight. SB and I will leave at about 5:45 p.m. to get shots (vaccinations, at the Albertsons pharmacy, I believe). I'll get three shots: a flu shot, a covid shot, and a pneumonia shot. Sure, why not, and I am almost sixty years old. Tomorrow, BH, SB, and I think Stan, will go on I think a road trip. SB asked me to stay home -- to care for the dogs, and because she thinks the four-person trips might wear on BH's nerves. After they get back, we might have Stan over for dinner, or we might eat out. Either option would satisfy me.

3:27 p.m., Saturday the 13th

They'll probably get home from their road trip soon. It's pretty much set in stone that Stan will join us again for dinner and a visit. I'm not sure what we'll have for dinner. Last night we had veggie burgers, and leftover tamales. Before dinner, SB and I went and got our shots. I got three; SB got two and will get the third shot later this year, as she is more sensitive to the effects of the shots. In my case, my arms (at the shoulders) are sore, and I had somewhat of a hard time getting comfortable in bed last night. During the night I also had a bit of malaise. But that has passed, and my arms will soon recover as well.
