It's been many years since I have used a forum, so I have no expectations for anyone who might read this.

I hope that my "intro" is appropriate despite the length - I am just not sure about the apparent open/public nature of this website.

I am sort of a non-monogomy newb. I have been in a relationship with someone for a long time.

I suppose I am hoping this site may provide advice in some way. I am in no way looking for any sort of relationship, but I could use a friend; ideally with experience.

I feel like I am a little hard to get to know (introvert/loner), but I am straight-up and trustworthy.

Welcome. We get lots of people who are in long term relationships that are just starting non-monogamy. And the semi-public nature is kind of freeing, to me - if I didn’t have a photo and location here, it would probably be very difficult to match me here to me in physical space. So it’s easy to be open about thoughts and feelings...
 
Welcome. This is a great resource. Hopefully, you will find what you are looking for.
 
Just make up nicknames for anyone with which you are involved. Keep your location a secret. And it's no big deal if your general area ends up being obvious. There are lots of people in the world, and in your area.

Me, I'm in Central Massachusetts, USA, but few people on this board know exactly where, unless we have messaged and I've met them irl.

Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

Don't be nervous, you are among friends here; most of us have a lot of experience, and can give you advice. I recommend for you to post in Poly Relationships Corner, it is the board where you will get the greatest amount of responses from the widest range of people.

It's true that Polyamory.com is a public site; it is searchable via Google but as far as I can tell, only by thread title. I use nicknames for my companions when I post here, but other than that I don't worry much about it.

Your intro looks good. I'm glad you could join us.
